INTRODUCTION OF VOCABULARY AND STRUCTURE
Steps to explain vocabulary
1. Teach vocabulary by means of images or pictures.
2. Be sure students understand each word or expression by asking yes/no
questions or simple ones
3. Pronounce the new words clearly and make students repeat them and
correct their pronunciation
4. Make students learn by repetition, by matching exercises or just pointing out
images to make them practice the words
5. Make students read the words in different order
6. Anticipate problems and prepare other ways of making yourself understand
INTRODUCTION OF THE STRUCTURE
OPTION 1
1. Revise the lesson and identify the main structure and the vocabulary you need to
teach.
2. Check whether there are secondary structures and vocabulary along the lesson.
3. Ask students questions using the target structure.
4. Write the model question on the board and the answers given by the students.

5. Give students a clue, a situation or a word for them to ask questions to their
partners.
6. . Practice the grammar structure asking questions, with different examples,
until it is clear. Give some clues. Practice Q/A. Teacher > Student /

7. Play a short game if possible. (ex, a memory game)
8. Give students a grammar exercise. (Grammar Bank)
9. Go to the book and follow the sequence of exercises.
