A construction daily report must be filed at the close of business each day to create an accurate, comprehensive, and consistent record of activity throughout the entire project. It lists all work is done, accomplishments or delays, safety accidents, equipment use, site visitors, and all other related information that has occurred during the day. The regular monitoring process is important because it allows the project owner, site manager, subcontractors, investors, and all other project stakeholders access to accurate details on progress without the need to visit the project. It also ensures that everyone involved in the work is working from the same document and has the same details, preventing miscommunication and error. The daily report is pretty much the same as it sounds. It is a document that reports on the day-to-day operations of a project and is considered by many to be one of the most significant aspects of effective project management. Although the terms and obligations specified in the project contract are of utmost importance, regular reports provide a means of complementing the contract by clarification and documentation. Skipping the daily construction report could pose several threats to the overall success of your project. You raise the chance that minor problems will become big issues because they have not been spotted or reported early enough. Inexcusable delays, safety problems – any number of other issues can occur and, if left unattended, can become more severe. Evidence is the most critical component of the daily reporting process! Disputes surrounding compensation or the amount of work done are increasingly emerging in the sense of construction projects. With a stack of correctly conducted regular reports, you can 3 theoretically fix any problems early, without resorting to more drastic solutions. You will have a full report of operating hours, products used, supplier delays, weather conditions. But digging deeper – regular construction reports encourage contact between project stakeholders. They provide a degree of accountability that is sorely required in this industry. Construction payment conflicts become a thing of the past when project partners collaborate and interact. 4 Benefits of Daily Report (Trentcotney, n.d.): 1. Offer you the chance to see the expected and the real costs of evaluating any variations. 2. Establishing a built plan to be in the place where the projects do not have a schedule or where there is an insufficient schedule. 3. Allowing general contractors to evaluate efficiency in all aspects of the project. 5 References Trentcotney, (n.d.).
