The main objective of writing a self-critique paper is to enhance students' communication and writing skills so that they can face the challenges of the corporate world where effective communication is a daily requirement. Last semester, we prepared an informative presentation and wrote several journals for our Business Communication course. The teaching assistant pointed out some inadvertent mistakes I made even though I tried to use my language and grammar skills to the best of my ability. Writing a self-critique paper would help me to focus on my mistakes and suggest ways of improving my writing and presentation skills. Just to get an idea about the structure of the critique paper I made an appointment with Jason Horn who is apparently the writing advisor of University of Windsor. It was an online meeting with Jason in the Teams where he showed me the structure and gave me ideas about writing a self-critique paper. According to the structure, it is significant to include five mistakes that I have made in writing journals. I must define and identify the issues, include examples of those issues, analyze them and then I must make corrections. And for the presentation critique I need to include three strengths where I must identify the strategies, provide explanation why I used those strategies and describe how my strategies made impact on audience engagement. At the very end I must write what are my improvement opportunities and how I can improve on these mistakes that ive made.
