MICROTEACHING ADVISORY LESSON REFLECTION Based on the microteaching advisory lesson (16/05/22) I basically identify three major weakness. Thus this reflection will consists of planning and preparation, creativity/initiative and classroom management & Teaching skills. Planning and preparation Eventhough the lesson planning has provided me to conclude the lesson precisely, I reasonalize that there is still more activities to be included. Such as lesson outcomes, students activities, and home work to be also stated in the lesson plan grid. On the other end, lesson outcomes overall was achieved but finished a bit late. I also realized that the teaching-learning process was fairly yet unable of using visible and creative aids to make the lesson more interesting. Overall preparation was achieved however, encountering shortage of handouts was evident. Creativity I realized that as I began the lesson I haven’t used much of the captivating scenes or objects to introduce the topic. I based too much of my introduction on emphasizing on the topic without adding scenes and objects to provide evidence. Classroom management & Teaching Skills Even though I am clear, concise and appropriate in my explanation the back look of the neatness and organization of the notes on the board was satisfactorily achieved. I turned to continue write notes on the second half section of the board even though there is enough space on the first half section. On the same note while writing and explaining I should have asked questions to the students to reflect if they have learnt what I taught. In addition, I shouldn’t have writing and explaining at the same time. And although I finished the body of the lesson well but I forgot to allow students to ask questions or doubts regarding the topic. Adjustment In the coming microteaching lesson I will need to be improved on the lesson plan by including every details of actual activities that will be conducted during the lesson. Lesson outcomes, students’ activities and home work will be stated in the lesson plan grid. I will also look into the need of accessing creative and visual aids with enough handouts available to all the students. While the most important factor is the time, as a matter of fact I will need to manage the lesson within the required time given. While realizing the need of involving captivating scenes and objects I will also need to improve my creativity in introducing the lesson with most captivating scenes and objects to make the lesson more interesting. Thus, I need to involve charts, materials/objects to emphasize/demonstrate the lesson topic and the concepts. Finally, I really need to be improved more on classroom management & teaching skills. In the coming lessons I will need to be greatly improved in my board writing skills. Such that my writing needs to be neat and tidy, visible at the back and it has to be spaced evenly on the board. While also when writing I need to be more conscious about what the students are learning than what I taught. Which means I need to give time for the students to write the notes before erasing and ease the manner of writing while talking. And not the least I am looking forward to have time for the students to ask questions and doubts regarding the lesson and the concepts taught.
