1. What is Information Technology?
Information Technology are anything related or encompasses to any forms of technology ,
an example of this is the combination of hardware and software products and services
that companies use to manage, access, communicate, and share information.
2. As an Information Technology student, what is your expected work
someday which is related in an IT field?
As a IT student I expect that someday I would work in a company where they would need
a web developer or atleast a web support that will aid them in there website, for designing
a website with an HTML and CSS has really amuse me from what it can do. But I also
want to become an Computer Engineer for seeing the hardware of the computer has
fascinated me of its somehow complex but simple design. Inspiring me to dream about in
creating my own design hardware in my future.
3. Discuss the importance of SDLC model.
SDLC is important because it devides the entire life cycle of software development into
five steps. The five steps are Systems planning, Systems analysis, Systems design,
Systems implementation, and Systems support and security. This make it more easier
to evaluate each part of software development and also makes it easier for programmers
to work concurrently on each phase.
4. Explain the concept of a business case and how a business case affects an
IT project.
The concept of a business case is to provides justification or reason for a profosal and to
suggest an alternative or other options that will help in evaluating the benefit, cost and
risk of alternative options and provides a rationale for the preferred solution to the concern
of the company. It affects IT project because it help us in determining that which projects
should receive funding and which ones are deferred or canceled. So it will be our guide
to follow to know if we should continue to invest in our project or not.
5. Describe the strategic planning process and why it is important to the IT
team.
The Strategic planning process are the steps that you go through as an organization to
determine the direction of your organization (Vision), what you're going to do and for
whom (Mission) , and how to measure it and guide your strategy to get to where you want
to be (Goals). This is also the Framework for IT Systems Development. It is important
because help us in improving the performance, provide more information, reduce costs,
strengthen controls, or provide better service and because it provides a sense of direction
and outlines towards the measurable goals, and it is use as a tool for guiding day-to-day
decisions and also for evaluating progress and changing approaches when moving
forward towards a project.
