You are opening your very own restaurant! It is all very exciting, but opening a restaurant takes a lot of work. Work through the steps to open your restaurant. Make sure you show your work for each step. ★ First, you have to approve the floor plans! 1) As you will need a huge dining room area with lots of chairs, your decorator has created this plane for you. How many chairs will you have to buy? Use multiplication to get to the answer! Week 11 2) You buy 8 tables. Tables cost $57 each. How much money will you need to spend on tables? 3) Your restaurant will seat 46 people. That means you will need 46 chairs. Each chair costs $8. How much money will you need to spend on chairs? 4) It costs $16 dollars each day to run an ad in the newspaper. You advertise for 8 days. How much did you spend on advertising? Week 11 5) One your first day in business, 126 people come to eat. They spend about $8 each. How much money did you earn on your first day? 6) To open the restaurant, you had to borrow $36 from the bank. If you pay $4 each month, how long will it take you to pay the back? Which operation can help you solve this problem? 7) Your teacher is so proud of you, she brings 32 teachers from school to your restaurant. She buys each of them the most expensive main dish on your menu along with a drink. She also buys 3 appetizers to share. What does she buy? How much money did she spend on lunch?
