STATES OF MATTER Boiling. - When a liquid boils it changes into a gas. The Boiling happens when a liquid becomes gas forming bubbles inside the liquid volume. - When a liquid boils, it changes into gas. The particles of the liquid gain heat and move much more quickly. Some of the heated particles move so apart that they escape from the surface of the liquid and become a gas. - Steam is heated water vapour. - Boiling Point is when a liquid gets hot enough to boil. Different liquids have different Boiling Points. NOTE: when water boils, it changes from a liquid to a gas called Steam. Particles of liquid water gain energy when they are heated and change into a gas. The boiling point of pure water is 100° C (Celsius)
