My understanding in this excerpt is that human reason is the source of many questions that cannot answer but
cannot be dismissed.

B. Group of students who will compete in the games (athletes).
Test yourself
I choose letter B for the group of students who will compete in the games (athletes) because I was also an
athlete in my junior high school life who represent our school and city in the R1AA Meet. I didn’t hesitate to
choose the letter B because I was a student-athlete who plays volleyball.
TEST YOURSELF: Before we proceed with the lesson, it is time again to reflect and share your thoughts.
My philosophy in life is that you only live once. Live life to its fullest. Every person should enjoy every
moment of their lives by appreciating everything to follow their dreams and to live their lives to the fullest. The
most important step to living life to the fullest is enjoying every moment. Nobody knows when their last day on
Earth might be, or the ones they love, so enjoying life while it lasts is the best way to live. My belief system is
treating others the way I want to be treated. In life people always want to be treated with respect, but many
times they are not very respectful to others. Should that person be respected if he or she does not show respect
to people? No, not, you should be treated exactly the way you treat other people. I am a strong believer in
treating people the way that I would like to be treated. To receive respect from someone, you must give respect
to them. My principle in life is that making mistakes is one of the important parts of our life. After committing
those mistakes, we are learning from them. Mistakes are the best lessons of our life. My core values are
Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, Servant Leadership, Personal courage, and loyalty.

Why should you ask questions?
I should ask questions to understand things that I don’t know. Asking questions keeps you in learning mode
rather than judgment mode. Asking questions helps me uncover the challenges that I’m facing and generate
solutions to solve those problems.
What motivates you to ask questions?
Many things motivate me to ask questions like; curiosity, learning new things, acquiring new skills, and
overcoming challenges.

Based on what you from the lesson, practice asking philosophical questions by formulating and writing
questions.
- What makes me tired?
- What stresses me out?
- What is the most important thing in my life?
3 Questions about the COVID-19 pandemic:
- When will the COVID-19 pandemic end?
- How was life if COVID-19 didn’t spread all over the world?
- How will COVID-19 end?
3 Questions about God:
- Why does God allow us to suffer?
- Why does God allow evil?
- Does God speak to us every day?
Test Yourself
1. I feel amazed every time I wonder about a certain thing or concept. Every time I wonder about something it is
something that I don’t have and couldn’t have and the only way to acquire this thing is to imagine that you have
that something you always wonder to have, for example: having a luxurious car.
2. In my own experienced during the quarantine period, I’ve learned a lot, and this lesson was added more to my
desire to explore the world around me. The important lesson I learned is that no matter what happens to you
and your surroundings your family will always be your comfort zone. During quarantine, I also learned that if
your family was together all day long, it was fun and lots of things get easier because your family is with you to
help you.
3. I will apply this knowledge by accepting whatever problems happen to our lives and conquering them alone,
together with your family, and with your loved ones.

The image indicates the value of philosophy in our life. Everyone has freedom. We have a choice as to where our
lives would be. Also, appreciating what we have in our life.
Question: How do we engage in Philosophy to understand its value?
Engaging in philosophy is contemplation a reflective activity where you renounce who you are, your beliefs, and
your principles in life. Holding on to your beliefs is closing yourself to the possibility of other perspectives.
Test Yourself
1. Imagine yourself in that picture or area, listening simply to the sound of waves, smelling fresh air from the
sea, reflecting as you see the colorful skies reflected in the ocean water. That photograph would be priceless.
2. To learn, it is necessary to ask questions. We ask questions to learn more about something, and we answer
questions to provide additional knowledge. Using questions to challenge our thinking is a great approach to do
so. By asking questions, you can generate deeper conversations and uncover hidden truths.

it views more views and details about the picture. The top view picture has more elements such as color, angle and

II. Essay
This pandemic that we are experiencing has led to a dramatic loss of Filipino people’s lives and caused
many problems in terms of physical, emotional, economic, social, and political. During the past
quarantine months/years, a lot of problems were faced by our government and to us Filipino people.
One of these problems was lots of Filipino people lost their jobs during this pandemic, causing their
families to starve and wait for the government’s “Ayuda”. Also, a shortage of food supplies was
experienced during this pandemic. Some people even experienced anxiety and depression during this
pandemic because they are afraid of these Covid-19, if they experienced some of the symptoms of
Covid they start to panic and they don’t know what to do. Some people experienced depression
because they cannot go outside and they feel like they were locked in their homes. Through this
pandemic malls and almost all of the businesses were forced to shut down according to the command
of the government, causing our economy to collapse. Given the guidelines of WHO we cannot go
outside for several months to avoid getting infected and stop the spread of Covid-19. Even now, we
can’t get close to other people when we go outside to obey the guidelines of WHO to at least distance
ourselves 1 meter from other people. We can simply tell that this pandemic change our everyday life.
