Select a topic that the audience and you find interesting.
Research your speech thoroughly.
Prepare the material in an organized and interesting fashion.
Practice - and then practice some more.
Take deep breaths before beginning; walk and practice if you can.
Get organized at the podium, waiting for the audience's full
attention.
7. Take a deep breath and remember to talk at a reasonable pace.
8. Use some gestures throughout to enhance your speech.
9. Don't expect a perfect performance- have realistic goals.
10. View the audience as your .friends.
(Remember everyone has to do it!)
Also, remember not to take criticism personally, but rather use it to
improve yourself and your speaking ability.
