For answering problem question, analysis is expected.
Answer should be written in IRAC form – identification, relevant law, application & conclusion.
First – identify the legal issued raised by the question.
Ask – what is the general area raised by the question.
Go to that general topic or part of the syllabus. Example: offer & acceptance; consideration
In the beginning of your answer identify the overall area, then identify specific issues raised in
the area.
Second – state the relevant law: give definition and state the requirements/ingredients.
Statements of law should be supported by relevant authority – case laws or provisions of Acts.
Choose the most relevant case law, if there are many on that topic, pinpoint the exact one that
matches the point.
Third – apply the law to the given facts of the problem – consider arguments for and against.
