Natural disaster .
the different types of
natural destruction are :
Earthquake , volcanoes ,
tidal waves [ tsunami] ,
flood , drought and
forest fires .
Earth quake : an earth
quake is a sudden shaking
of the ground caused by
movement or vibrations
deep inside the earth .
Hence , the earth quakes
of high intensity cause
great destruction on the
earths surface .

Volcanoes : a volcano is an opening on the
earths surface which allows hot , molten rock
, ash and gases to escape from below the
surface . There are three types of volcanoes .
They are : Active volcano are those that
have erupted in the last 10,000 years and
can erupt again . Mount etna of italy is an
active volcano . Dormant volcano are those
that are in a state of sleep . This means that
it had erupted in the past . It can erupt
again but at moment of asleep . Mt kea is
located in Hawain islands , USA and is a
dormant volcano . Extinct volcanoes are
those that have been inactive for thousnds of
years and are not expected to erupt again .

Tidal
waves : tidal waves
are also known as
tsunamis. A tsunami is
caused by an undersea
earthquake or by a severe
hurricane or cyclone .
These are as high as 15
meters . It have
recorded .
flood
: floods happen when
the rivers spill over their
banks or they overflow on
to the surrounding areas .
This can happen when
there is a large amount of
rainfall in a short period
of time . Floods lead to
damage of lives , homes ,
livestock and crops .
Drought
: if a particular
area receives no rain or less
rain than normal for a long
period , it is not only the lack
of rainfall that causes
drought . Hot dry winds ,
very high temperature and
evaporation of moisture
from the ground can results
in conditions of drought .
forest fires : a spark of
lightning or heat
generated from rotting
plants or animals or the
heat from the lava of a
volcano can start a
forest fire .

