(answer example): Having morphological knowledge implies having the
unconscious knowledge of the many morphological processes that take place in a
given language. This includes the implicit understanding of the rules that govern
such processes as affixation and compounding. This knowledge is stored in what is
called a mental lexicon which helps us manipulate the internal structure of words
in order to form entirely new ones.
