Catalysis is a phenomenon that plays a very crucial and defining role in every field ranging from pharmaceuticals to petroleum crude separation as well as refining to bio oil synthesis. Although the goal that is expected by a catalyst to achieve, is by and large the same among this wide spectrum of its application, the specification and nature of the catalyst to be employed for a particular process is unique and of great importance. Producing products with very high enantiomeric purity in pharmaceutical industry is a challenge to be overcome since it is achieved only as a result of very tedious and complex processes of separation of the obtained mixture of products. This complex procedure can be by passed by synthesis and selection of mesoporous materials with tailor made pores and active sites that is highly efficient and selective in conversion to get the desired product ALONE. With an elementary knowledge on what and how the catalysts work, I would like to learn more about the synthesis of materials for this noble phenomenon. Moreover, as we know a very small amount of catalyst can work for a very large amount of the reactants, considering the durability factor of the material used for catalysis forms a substantial part of the research. I am very much keen to learn more on how to reduce fouling, attrition, coking and other factors of deactivation of catalyst materials and synthesize highly versatile, efficient catalysts especially with inorganic combination that is said to have profound impacts on their properties. This internship when granted, will be a golden opportunity for me to steer through the research grounds since this would be my first encounter of working in research laboratory and will be of great help to kindle the research interests as well as to learn a lot about this diverse, yet fascinating subject. 29727
