The word grid below consists of eight words to complete the phrases for each components of
scientific investigations. Search for these words, then use it to complete the phrases on the next
diagram.
ENGAGE
Answer a situation by identifying which stage of the scientific method is presented by means of
using the flow chart on the last activity - Components of Scientific Investigation. After which, one
representative will present their screen and deliver the groups’ Google Jamboard/Whiteboard work
in class.
Situation:
You go to your house’ storage room to look for your previous textbooks in science, but your
storage room does not have lighting. You borrow a flashlight from your father and you immediately
go to the storage room. As you go there, you find out that your flashlight is not working - it does not
turn on. You have thought of applying scientific method to solve your problem by being scientific.
From each statement below, identify which stage of the scientific method is presented.
1. You need your flashlight, but it does not turn on.
2. You test your flashlight after installing new batteries.
3. You say that the batteries might have worn out.
4. Your flashlight finally turns on after installing new batteries.
5. You test you old batteries to other available flashlights.
