1. Using the Taxonomic Hierarchy give at least one (1) example of a
microorganism using the eight (8) levels in the hierarchy.

2. Enumerate/name and define at least five (5) microorganisms scientific
names following the rules in nomenclature.
a. Staphylococcus aureus
- Causes minor skin infections, pneumonia, meningitis, and other life-threatening
diseases.
b. Giardia lamblia
- Protozoan that causes a severe intestinal infection
c. Candida albicans
- Microorganism that caused candididasis.
d. Bacillus subtilis
- Used as a probiotic preparation in the treatment or prevention of intestinal
disorders.
e. Francisella tularensis
- Considered as one of the most infectious of all bacterial pathogens; causes
tularemia.
