Lent is a time of contemplation and preparation leading up to Easter celebrations. Christians emulate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and 40-day retreat into the desert by observing Lent for 40 days. Fasting, both from food and from celebrations, is a part of Lenten season. Lent activities is somehow our tradition for us to strengthen our faith and beak the barriers we that we made through our sins making us disconnected to God. Lent is a solemn and anticipatory season in which we recall Jesus' sacrifice of offering his life for all mankind. There are many ways or activities that we practice during lent, one of that is fasting in which we believe that it is of the way recognize the sacrifice that God had made for us. I believe as a christian and a Marian Educator, lent activities is a practice to strengthen my faith to God. But the before having activities in lent season we have to built our strong foundation that would draw us nearer an way closer to God and that is ou faith. The Bible says, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you” (James 4:8). As Christians, we can only sustain a normal relationship with God and receive the work of the Holy Spirit by drawing closer to God and having real contact with Him.It's the same as two people getting along who can only keep their close relationship going for a long time by being more open with each other, sharing more when they have problems, and knowing and respecting each other. In this age of fast-paced life, however, busy jobs, school works, complicated relationships and evil social trends draw us in and occupy us more and more.. The people, events, and things of the outside world easily interrupt our souls, preventing us from maintaining a normal relationship with God. As a result, we become increasingly distant from God, and it becomes increasingly difficult for us to quiet ourselves before God, draw close to God, and seek the enlightenment and guidance of the Holy Spirit when we face problems. When we do things, we often do so without a specific path or intent, and our hearts are perpetually empty and irritated. So, how can we keep our relationship with God strong? During Lenten season, one of our family’s traditions and activities is going to shrine in which it can extend our prayer and also it can extend the relationship and know better the sacrifices God ha made for us. We also tend to have bible sharing to spread the word of God and we can put it our heart and soul. This helps me to connect my bond with my holy spirit and reflect the things the I’ve done, to ask forgiveness and being thankful for all the blessing God had bestowed upon us. But these activities doesn’t end on Lenten Season , it always stays in our heart an soul. Because having is one of the great foundation to connect and have communication with our Almighty being. I believe when you have faith, all the goo works will follow. In a nutshell, we can reflect on ourselves in a variety of ways: we can reflect on ourselves in light of God's words; we can reflect on ourselves in the mistakes we make in our everyday lives.;others pointing out our flaws and corruptions is an even better opportunity to focus on ourselves; additionally, as we see others' mistakes, we may reflect on ourselves, take their mistakes as a sign, learn the lessons and profit from them, and so on. Self-reflection may take place at any time of day or night. We may pray to God in our hearts at any time and in any position, reflect on and recognize our own sins, seek God's will and requirements in His words, and repent when the time comes. However, before going to bed each night, we can focus on and summarize all we did that day, as this will help us gain a better understanding of our current states and identify what we haven't gotten right yet. Our pursuit would be more directional and beneficial to maintaining a regular relationship with God once we start doing this.
