Nowadays there are a lot of urgent global issues and poverty is one of them. According to the World
Bank, more than 40% of the world's population is poor. This number is horrible and requires an
immediate solution, because it can be injurious to people’s health and life. The reason of poverty
is uneven distribution of resources around the world. That’s why some people have more than they
need to live, and others do not have enough to survive.
It is important to mention that payment of benefits won’t help to cut poverty. Government should
create new workplaces for poor people and conduct training and retraining programs. There is a
famous proverb: «Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed
Him for a Lifetime». People should be taught how to make for a living and don’t be dependent on the
state.
Governments of poor countries are not able to solve the problem on their own. That’s why developed
countries should help them by giving loans and investing. Fair trade is also a very important part
because It activates entrepreneurship, which results in economic growth that brings about
prosperity.
To sum up, world poverty is a very serious problem. The development of the whole world slows
down because a huge part of the population is not integrated into the world labour market. In my
view, this problem can be overcome only with the help of all countries.
