1st Session / Reporting an Experiment By/ Thouraya Moheb Aim: An experiment about the effect of Adding sugar or sodium bicarbonate to vinegar Hypothesis: Sodium Bicarbonate reacts with vinegar Apparatus and Substance: (Equipment) 2 glasses 50ml vinegar 10gm sodium bicarbonate 10gm sugar Method: 25ml vinegar was poured into each glass. Sugar was added to one of the glass, notice there was no reaction. Sodium Bicarbonate was added to the other one, notice there was lots of bubbles ( effervesces ) . Conclusion: Sodium bicarbonate ( a base ) produces a chemical reaction with vinegar ( an acid ) which releases carbon dioxide as bubbles. Note: The hypothesis was verified
