Sub Plan Biology Vocabulary Practice Objective: Students will be able to recognize the definitions of new scientific terms by becoming familiar with prefixes and suffixes. Engagement: (Flashcard Design) Allow students 10-15 minutes to copy the prefixes/suffixes onto the distributed index cards. They should write one prefix/suffix per card, with the prefix/suffix on one side and the definition of the word part on the back. Activity: Allow students approximately 20-30 minutes to work in pairs to practice learning the definitions of the word parts, using the flashcards. Let them know that they are preparing for an independent Practice Test at the end of the period!
