MECHANICS:
1. Lecture on Disaster Risk Reduction Management
a. There will be a pre-assigned topic to Media and Information Literacy teachers that will be discussed during MIL period based on the given theme
b. The following are the pre-assigned topics that will be discussed: Media Literacy, Information Literacy and Technology Literacy
2. Information Dissemination Campaign
 All Media and Information Literacy teachers will provide an infographic poster to be posted in every classroom to constantly remind the students on what to
do and act in social media.
3. Media and Information Month Awareness Bulletin Board Display
a. Grade 11 and 12 students per section, will showcase their skills in making their own bulletin board which will display media and information
awareness with regards to the theme.
b. Students are not allowed to make the bulletin board during Saturdays and Sundays or even after the class. They may use their break, lunch and
home room time to do and finish it.
c. The bulletin boards will be evaluated at their respective classrooms by three judges.
d. During the judging process, one representative from each class will be given 2 minutes to explain their Bulletin board.

4. Infomercial video
a. Grade 11 and 12 students per section will showcase their skills in creating an infomercial video which will display media and information
awareness that is relevant to the theme.
b. The advertisement should last for 2-3 minutes only.
c. The infomercial video should “hypothetically” demonstrate the importance of promoting ethical use of media and information.
d. Students may use a flip camera/ cellphone to record their infomercial and then Windows Movie Maker to add all of the special effects.
f. Infomercial video must be taken only around the vicinity of the campus.
g. Lastly, finished Infomercial video must be saved in a CD.
h. Infomercial videos submitted by the students will be played before the seminar/symposium which will be conducted on November.

5. Tarpaulin (Design) Making Contest
a. Grade 11 and 12 students per section will showcase their skills in creating a Tarpaulin design which will display media and information awareness
that is relevant to the theme.
b. The infomercial video should “hypothetically” demonstrate the importance of promoting ethical use of media and information.
c. Students may use any computer editing software app to add all of the special effects.
d. Lastly, finished Tarpaulin design must be saved in a flash drive or sent to media and information portal site.
h. The selected Tarpaulin design will be displayed on the seminar/symposium which will be conducted on November.

6. Seminar about Digital Citizenship, Netiquette, Digital Footprints and Digital Issues in the Philippines
a. The Media and Information Literacy teachers together with the SSG Officers will invite resources speaker/s to conduct this seminar to the students,
parents and teachers.
b. The said seminar will be held at the DJAPMNHS Function Hall on July 22 at 1:30pm-3:30 pm
c. Participants are expected to listen and understand carefully to the aim of the said Seminar for them to be aware on what they’re currently doing in social
media
d. The Resource speaker/s may suggest some actions to the students to prepare them in their future actions.
e. The Resource speaker/s would be the one to decide how the seminar would go on and how will they let the student understand their aim.
7. Digital Poster Making and Symposium
a. Grade 11 and 12 students per section will create a digital poster which aims to educate high school students on how to be a responsible user and
producer of media information. Each strand will select from the following subjects.
- Netiquette
- Cyberbullying
-Digital Footprint
- Internet Addiction
-Flame Wars
- Fake News
- Internet Safety
b. The digital poster must focus on the issue and not attack or mention personalities. Use of foul words and inappropriate pictures are not allowed. Citation
for a borrowed material is required.
c. The selected digital poster will be printed and posted in the school community. Poster size is 24 inches by 36 inches with a resolution of 300 dpi. If you
are using Canva in creating your poster, simply save it as “PDF; for print”.
d. Strand with the same subject will be grouped together for the symposium.

8. Media and Information Literacy Camp
a. The Media and Information Literacy teachers together with the SSG Officers will conduct a Media and Information Literacy camp with the following
participants: students, parents and teachers.
b. The said camp will be held at the DJAPMNHS Function Hall on January 26-27, 2017 at 9:00am to 6:00pm and 8:00 am to 12nn.
c. Participants are expected to listen and understand carefully to the aim of the said camp for them to be aware on what they’re currently doing in social
media
9. Drafting Netiquettes
a. Grade 11 and 12 students per section will be drafting netiquette rules for the school.
b. If the school has existing netiquette, they may evaluate its strengths, weaknesses, implementation, and its overall impact to the school. Discuss if
you want to retain, reject, or revise some rules. After your deliberation, draft a new netiquette.
c. They may discuss their experiences with using the internet such as emailing, chatting, posting messages, and others as your basis for the
netiquette.

e. The selected netiquette rules will be hailed as winner/s which will be added to the school’s existing netiquette rules.
10. Mr. and Ms. Digital Enthusiast 2018
a. Each section will have a boy and a girl to represent their section (Grades 11-12)
b. There will be competitions to determine the winners.
c. In the People’s Choice, the member of the team will cooperate to earn as much money as they can.
e. On the day of the program, the candidates will be presented wearing their customized t-shirts which consist of text based principles and pants.
f. There will be Q&A portion wherein the candidates will be picking a Media and Information Literacy related picture which they will relate to their life.
