MONITORING OF UNDER WATER CLEANING
OUR REF: RR / DIV / 001/ 2012
This is to certify that the undersigned surveyor did at the request of M.A. RAZAK &
COMPANY LTD of No.7 , 19th Lane, Colombo 2, on behalf of their principals attend on
board MV. Beks Nazik at Colombo anchorage on 12th and 13th December 2012 for the
purpose of monitoring under water Hull cleaning and the findings are as follows.

Vessel owners were represented by Surveyor from Transmarine Navigation (pvt) Ltd.
OBSERVATIONS
MV. Beks Nazik loaded with cargo arrived at Colombo anchorage at about 0800hrs local
time on 12th December 2012 and anchored 7miles west of Colombo break water.
Arrival Draught at Colombo anchorage was found as Fwd:10.8m Aft:12.0m
Under water hull cleaning was to be carried by Master Divers in Colombo anchorage.
Master Divers diving team arrived at 0830hrs local time on 12th December 2012 on board
and met with Master of the vessel and briefed about the operation.
Prior to commence the under water cleaning operation under water hull was photographed
by he divers to ascertain the extent of marine growth.

Marine growth on the sides were found slight and the bottom of the vessel was moderate.
Due to strong current in the area ,divers were unable to operate brush cart, but polishing of
propeller was done by two divers and completed the polishing by 1530hrs.

On completion of propeller polishing , divers returned and cleaning of hull was scheduled on
13th December.
Divers reported on board at 0830hrs local time on 13th December and commenced cleaning
of under water hull with hydraulically operated brush cart. Cleaning was carried out from
forward to aft and hand scrapers were used to clean areas where the brush cart could not
reach.

Hull was cleaned using hydraulically operated brush cart and hand scrapers. Marks of shell
bases were visible at places where hand scrapers were used for cleaning. But no marine
growth were left on the hull.

REMARKS
Divers commenced cleaning operation on 12 th December at 0900hs and completed at
1530hrs on 13th December 2012. No night operation was carried out. On completion of works
on each day, work done was videoed and shown to Master of the vessel and to both
surveyors. All parties were satisfied with the works carried out.
Propeller and the underwater hull was found free of marine growth on completion of cleaning
operation.
I certify that I have no interest by way of ownership, agency commission, insurance or in
any other manner whatsoever with respect to the contents forming the subject matter of
this survey report.
