COVID 19 Summery A pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan, China on 31 December 2019. On 11 February 2020, WHO announced a name for the new coronavirus disease: COVID-19 (Corona virus 2019). The name corona came from the crown resembling shape of the virus receptors that bind with the human respiratory cells. COVID-19 spread mainly through close contact from person to person Droplets from someone who is infected. A person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. Note: Recent study Suggested COVID-19 may be spread by infected people that show no Symptoms (you can get infected and show no symptom 2 weeks). How to protect yourself There’s currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19). You can protect yourself and help prevent spreading the virus to others if you: Do 1. Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, with soap and water or 60% alcohol-based hand rub 2. Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze 3. Avoid close contact (6 feet) with people who are unwell 4. Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell 5.
