WOMEN IN LITERATURE: INFOGRAPHIC ASSIGNMENT
Explanation and Rubric
Visual Project: 50 points
Presentation: 50 points*
An infographic is a collection of imagery, charts, and minimal text that gives an
easy-to-understand overview of a topic. They use striking, engaging visuals to
communicate information quickly and clearly.
In order to learn the first of our gender studies terms, you’ll create an
INFOGRAPHIC in which you do the following:
1: DEFINE your word. You may use the definition given, but I encourage you to do further research to
mine out more details. Consider using CHARTS and GRAPHS in order to make your point.
2: EXPLAIN THE SIGNIFICANCE of your word to society at large, especially the state of gender equality.
3: FIND AN EXAMPLE OF THE WORD IN ACTION. Search for something going on in the world at present.
Link it to the infographic, if possible.
4. USE THE WORD CORRECTLY in an original sentence, using context clues
Go to Venngage for templates to use for this assignment!
Please PRINT your infographic out for class (you’ll need the C-Lab for this) AND submit it to Showbie. I’ll
be assessing the projects in your Showbie folders. Also create and print a work cited in MLA form. Feel
free to use EasyBib.
*You’ll present your infographic to class and teach them what you’ve learned about the term. You’ll only be
allowed the actual infographic for notes, so be sure to know your term and visual well enough to keep sustained
eye contact with your classmates and me.
