Immigration and All We Have Left Overview: US History students will read the novel, All We Have Left, to understand what it is to be a member of an ethnic group (Muslims) in modern America after the events of 9/11. Immigration events throughout the 20th and 21st century US will be part of the extension activities delve further into the concept of immigration and its effects. Students will gain appreciation for immigration as a means of creating diversity that makes our society and nation thrive. With this background, the students will address the current immigration issue of the Mexican border and the building of a wall by writing their Congressmen an email detailing their opinion.
