Computer Science Induction Task Studying Computer Science is not simply about understanding facts and figures, programming or learning and applying technology. Importantly, Computer Science students also need to learn how to produce evidenced personal opinion and evaluation in order to advise others on computer related issues and decisions. A significant area of Computer Science that you will be studying on the BTEC Diploma/Extended Diploma, is Computer Security. This is a subject that will require many such personal opinions and evaluations: For example, when is security more important than personal privacy? Task brief: As a taster to these issues we would like you to evaluate the following statement: ‘Hacking is always wrong’, and provide your researched and evidenced - summarise real examples to backup your arguments, written opinion on a single-side of A4 (approximately, 500 words). Your work should be presented in an appropriate font that is 12-point in size and your work should be checked carefully for spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG). You should, at the end of the document, give the full URL of any websites that you obtained information from and the date on which you accessed them. You should not exceed one side of A4. Your work will be marked using the following scale: 0 = not done or clearly not own wording 1 = done in a very brief/minimal way with some attempt to put into own words 2 = has been done with some level of detail/to a reasonable quality and a good attempt to put into own words 3 = a high level of detail/quality, very clearly expressed in own words The deadline is 9:30am, Monday 2 September 2019.
