Congratulations! You have been selected to appear on the next season of Naked and
Afraid! You will be dropped off somewhere in your biome and left to survive for 40 days.
Your team will be given a large pot and a machete. As a team, you can bring 3 more
items, but no powered weapons such as guns are allowed. You can discuss these items
beforehand so that you maximize your chance of success. How will you survive? You’ll
need to use the features of your biome to help you! Think about the food sources in your
biome and the hazards you may encounter. Consider the climate and precipitation in your
designated area.
You will present to the class your survival plan and the class will decide how likely you are
to survive. In your presentation, be sure to ask yourself the following questions and make
sure you’ve planned for everything! Your presentation can only last 5 minutes, with up to
5 minutes of questions being asked after you finish. Be prepared to answer the questions.
You’ll be graded using the attached rubric so please review it carefully.
Things to consider:
What items will you choose for survival?
What will you do first? Second? Third?
What will you use for shelter?
What will you eat? If plants or animals are used, please make sure they are indigenous to
the area and describe how you will find or kill them.
Where will you look for water? How will you collect it and store it?
What hazards do you need to be wary of? How can you protect yourself from these
dangers?
How will you prepare for the weather in your biome?
Will you build a fire? How? When? Where?
How will you avoid impacting (destroying) the environment while the show is there? After
you leave, it needs to go back to the way it was before you arrived.

In all your planning, remember, you’ll be naked.
And you’ll most certainly be afraid!
