Humans effect on Freshwater
A small part of our water is fresh
Most of it wasted by things of bones and flesh
More than 20 percent of the 10,000 freshwater species have become extinct
And most of it is linked
We continue to build dams and water systems
But what about the poor microorganisms?
This water is where the fish must thrive
Not where a human can dump and dive.
A protected wetland area needs to be created,
Or the death of all fish is to be awaited.
Our water contains traces of contaminants from sunscreen to pesticides
The clean and dirty water continues to un divide.
Pollution is taking over our Earth
So, what is the safety of our water really worth?
Stop dumping all of your industrial waste
That’s not something our poor fish would like to taste.
