745 Non-electrical machinery, tools and mechanical apparatus, parts thereof, nes After a 23.5 percent drop in 2009, the value (in current prices) of exports of non-electrical machinery, tools and mechanical apparatus, parts thereof, nes (SITC group 745) bounced back in 2010 by 13.1 percent to 48.3 bln US$ (see table 2). Imports showed a similar development with an increase of 13.6 percent and amounted to 47.3 bln US$ in 2010 (see table 3). Graph 1 shows that the increase in exports for 2010 in this product group was exceeded by the increases in world exports of machinery and transport equipment (SITC section 7) of 22.1 percent and in total world exports of 21.2 percent. Exports of non-electrical machinery, tools and mechanical apparatus, parts thereof, nes (SITC group 745) accounted for 0.9 percent of world exports of SITC section 7 and 0.3 percent of total world exports in 2010 (see table 1). Germany, Italy and USA were the top exporting countries in 2010 (see table 2). They accounted respectively for 20.4, 15.2 and 10.9 percent of world exports. USA and Germany were also among top destinations, together with China (see table 3). By MDG regions (see graph 2), Developed Europe accounted for a majority of trade in non-electrical machinery, tools and mechanical apparatus, parts thereof, nes (SITC group 745). In 2010, its exports reached 28.5 bln US$ while imports amounted to 17.4 bln US$, resulting in a trade surplus of 11.1 bln US$. Eastern Asia recorded a trade surplus of 2.1 bln US$. Top trade deficits were recorded by Latin America and the Caribbean (-3.0 bln US$), Commonwealth of Independent States (-2.1 bln US$) and Developed North America (-1.7 bln US$).
