This lecture will teach definitions, methods and processes of a
knowledge and comprehension (Bloom) topic in International Management. The specific topic in this field of
study varies depending on the lecturer.

skills, analysis and synthesis of
knowledge
In the framework of this lecture the students will be taught to apply
their knowledge, understand its implications and relationships
to other fields of study as well as to analyze its meaning in a
broader context. Students will be prepared to work on practical
problems which will simultaneously serve to obtain an in depth
understanding of the teaching content.
Personal competence: Social abilities
and skills
The lectures are planned in a way that the students work in
heterogeneous groups. Thereby they get encouraged to plan and
actively create working processes, and to lead fellow the students.
At the same time by working in groups, students learn to adapt
and respond to their working context.
Personal competence: Independence /
autonomy
In respect to this competence, this lecture teaches the ability to
reflect about specific topics related to international management as
well as in regard to the students’ own personality. The students will
understand and learn to cope with his/ her own strength and
weaknesses and further develop his/ her personality.

The content of the lectures vary depending on the lecturer. The
focus may lie on sustainable entrepreneurship, management in the
Asia-Pacific region or Leadership.

International Management is business field which should be
understood as a strategic axis between all business areas. In
consequence, a broad understanding on business related topics
form the fundament of a good management.
Additional specifics
The chief topic of this course typically changes each term in order
to provide the lecturers with some flexibility to deliver courses
on their current research activities or emerging business issues.
Students benefit from this flexibility by obtaining up-to-date, indepth knowledge of the selected topic.
This course is an optional course in the Major International
Management Part I or II or in the Minor International Management.
