LECTURE SERIES
Rev. Wright to participate in the Stanley I. Stuber lecture panel discussion and will
deliver African American Legacy Lecture on April 24, 2014
Rochester, NY (April 1, 2014) - Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, true to its
commitment to progressive theological reflection, brings together several of this country’s most
influential leaders during their Spring Lecture Series this month, including Rev. Dr. Jeremiah
Wright, Jr.
Rev. Wright will participate in an on-campus panel discussion on Thursday, April 24, 2014
following a speech given by Ms. Jean Zaru, Presiding Clerk of the Friends Meetinghouse in
Ramallah, Palestine. Her presentation, “Confronting Structures of Domination, Truth and
Peacemaking in the Palestinian Experience”, is the subject of a subsequent panel discussion by
Rev. Wright, Rabbi Brian Walt of Congregation Tikkun v’Or (Ithaca Reform Temple) and Dr.
Laura Donaldson, Professor of English at Cornell University, concluding at 4:00 p.m.
The CRCDS African American Legacy Lecture, delivered by Rev. Wright, will be held at Aenon
Baptist Church on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Wright’s lecture is entitled
“African Centered Theology in an Age of Color Blindness: They Forgot Their Story”. The church
is located at 175 Genesee Street, Rochester, NY, 14611.

Each spring and fall, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School brings together visionary
leaders, teachers, and preachers who “dare to ask the unasked questions.” This Spring’s
theme is “Kairos CRCDS”, adapted from the Greek word “Kairos”, signifying God’s “in-breaking”
into today’s times. Topics for the week include The Christian Faith and LGBT Experience (Dr.
Barbara Lundblad, Tuesday, April 22, 7:00 p.m.) and “Nonviolent Communication Training” (JC
Wynn Lecture, directed by M.K. Gandhi Institute’s Kit Miller, Wednesday, April 23, 9:00 a.m. –
4:00 p.m.) The four-day event includes a poetry reading, art exhibit, worship services, book
signings and events honoring alumni/ae.
