The purpose of the Crisis Response Guide is to provide specific information regarding
the action to be taken by the staff of the Division in dealing with an emergency situation
that has resulted in the loss of life or serious injury to a student or staff member. When
appropriate, these guidelines, or portions thereof, should be applied when the loss of life
or injury is to the family or friends of a student or staff member.
The guidelines are intended to be applied as outlined, with the understanding that not all
the points will be applicable in every case.
