CHEST:Place 0” mark of the
tape measure in the center of
your chest. Tape should wrap
around the broadest part of
the chest, under the arms, and
resting across the shoulder
blades, back to the center of
chest. Tape should be level
and laid flat, held neither too
tight, nor too loose. The point
where the tape meets the 0”
mark (in the center front of
the chest) is your
measurement.
INSEAM: Use a pair of pants
that fit you well (they
should not be too loose around
the waist). Measure the inseam
of the pants by positioning the
tape’s 0” mark on the center
seam of the crotch, down the
inside leg seam, to the hem.
The point where the tape
meets the hem is the inseam
length.

WAIST: Place 0” mark of the
tape measure in the center of
your natural waist. Tape should
wrap around the back to the
front center of waist. Tape
should be level and laid flat,
held neither too tight, nor
too loose. Do not suck in
your stomach or you will get
a false measurement. The
point where the tape meets
the 0” mark is your waist
measurement.
NOTE: When taking these measurements, use a cloth tape measure, not a metal one.
Measurements should be taken over standard undergarments. If you plan to wear
clothing beneath coveralls, order one size larger, to accomodate the extra garments.

To find your shirt size, use your neck and sleeve
measurements. If you are in between sizes,

tape measure in the center of
your neck. Tape should wrap
around the neck, under the chin
resting comfortably at your

If you are between measurements, choose the larger size.

*waist measurements are for the natural waist NOT pants size
Sizes are based on actual body measurements.
CHEST:Place 0” mark of the
tape measure in the center of
your chest. Tape should wrap
around the broadest part of
the chest, under the arms and
resting across the shoulder
blades, back to the center of
chest. Tape should be level
and laid flat, held neither too
tight, nor too loose. The point
where the tape meets the 0”
mark, (in the center front of
the chest), is your
measurement.
INSEAM: Use a pair of pants
that fit you well (they
should not be too loose around
the waist). Measure the inseam
of the pants by positioning the
tape’s 0” mark on the center
seam of the crotch, down the
inside leg seam, to the hem.
The point where the tape
meets the hem is the inseam
length.

WAIST: Place 0” mark of the
tape measure in the center of
your natural waist. Tape should
wrap around the back to the
front center of waist. Tape
should be level and laid flat,
held neither too tight, nor
too loose. Do not suck in
your stomach or you will get
a false measurement. The
point where the tape meets
the 0” mark is your waist
measurement.
NOTE: When taking these measurements, use a cloth tape measure, not a metal one.
Helpful Hint: If you plan to wear clothing, in addition to undergarments,
beneath your insulateds, choose a larger size to accomodate
the extra garments.

WELDING CAPS SIZING
• To find your welding cap size, measure the circumference of your head.
MEASURING TIPS
Things you will need:
1) Cloth measuring tape OR 2) Standard measuring tape and a piece of string.
How to measure:
1. Hold the end of the cloth tape measure to the middle
of your forehead. If you are using a standard metallic
tape measure, use a piece of string.
2. Wrap the tape or string around your head until you
return to the starting point. It should be above your
ears, resting at the point you would like your hat to rest.
3. Make sure the tape measure or string is snug around
your head, but not too tight. It should be comfortable,
and just fitted enough to stay put.
4. Jot down your measurement in inches. If you used string,
measure the string against your tape measure.
5. Use the size chart at right, to determine which size will be
your best fit. If you are between sizes, choose the larger size.

To measure for crown size :
1. Measure from the crown of the head (highest peak)
to the location where you like the bottom of the band.
2. If you have an existing hat that fits fine, lay it down,
flat on it’s side. Measure the distance from the top of
the crown to the bottom of the band.

Custom Embroidered Logos & Designs
Begin with High-Quality Digitizing
LOGO LIMITATIONS: Embroidery is NOT printing, if your artwork includes shadows, gradients or
shading, we will have to discuss how to adapt the design to embroidery capabilities. We have
some tricks, but there are limits on what can be duplicated with needle and thread. We cannot
duplicate gradients within small individual letters, numbers, or other small objects. Gradient effects
can be reproduced only within larger objects or shapes. Thread layering and overstitching are used
to produce a gradient look. Although this achieves a similar effect, it adds considerable stitching to
the digitized design.

LAUNDERING INSTRUCTIONS
Home Laundering
LAPCO FR clothing-made with Carolina Protect FR fabric-can be washed, dried, and ironed
if necessary. Conventional home washing methods will not alter the flame-resistant properties
of the fabric, when employed correctly. It is important that the garments be free of stains that
could be flammable. If stains cannot be removed at home, washing periodically at a commercial
laundromat is recommended. Difficult or profound stains wash out more easily if they are prewashed. The stain should be rubbed with liquid detergent or another product specified for prewashing. The pre-wash should sit long enough to penetrate the stain and loosen the soil. Do not
use any pre-wash product containing bleach or hydrogen peroxide. These chemicals will alter
the flame-resistance of the fabric and consequently, the garment.
Detergents and Other Washing Products
It is important to use an effective detergent that does not contain softener, bleach, or hydrogen
peroxide. There are a variety of fabric softeners and starches on the market, but some of these
will affect the flame-resistance of the fabric; therefore, it is not recommended to use these
products on your flame-resistant garments. Another issue to consider is water quality. Hard water
contains salts like calcium and magnesium. These minerals can deposit layers of buildup on the
fabric that are difficult to remove and can decrease the flame-resistance of the garments over time.
Soft water, on the contrary, can reduce the consumption of detergent, improve wash quality, and
will not affect the flame-resistant properties of your garments. The use of soaps is not recommended.
Soaps can form an insoluble film on your garments, and can be flammable.
Washing/Drying Guide
Garments should be separated into light colors and dark colors to avoid color transfer between
garments. When washing your garments, it is important not to overload the machine. This will
ensure an optimum wash and avoid wrinkles. The load size should allow garments to move
freely during the wash and rinse cycles. The water temperature should be set to “hot” when
washing heavily soiled garments. Less soiled garments should be washed on a lower temperature
setting to extend the color retention of the fabric. Your flame-resistant garments can be washed at
a temperature of up to 167°F. Your garments can be machine or line dried. When machine drying,
garments should be removed from the machine immediately when they have dried or while still
slightly damp. Over drying can result in excessive shrinkage. Drying times vary depending on the
load size. Steaming or common ironing can be used with your flame-resistant garments. Ironing,
without the use of starch, will not have a negative effect on the garments flame-resistant properties.
Dry cleaning is effective at removing grease and oils that are difficult to remove using conventional
laundering techniques. Dry cleaning is not recommended for our denim garments, due to possible
discoloration.
IMPORTANT
Bleach, Hydrogen Peroxide, or products containing either, should NEVER be used
on flame-resistant garments.

Flash Fire
A flash fire is defined by CGSB 155.20-2000 and NFPA 2113 as:
“A rapidly moving flame front which can be a combustion explosion. Flash fire may occur in an environment
where fuel and air become mixed in adequate concentrations to combust...flash fire has a heat flux of
approximately 84 kW/m2 for relatively short periods of time, typically less than 3 seconds.”
