Launched in May 2010, TECGEN SELECT® Brand Flame Resistant Garments
were awarded “New Product of The Year” by OH&S Magazine for their light
weight, breathability, and moisture-wicking capabilities. The fabric utilizes
the patented TECGEN® Fiber, which has exceptional flame resistance and
thermal protection. When woven with other inherently
FR fibers, TECGEN SELECT® Brand Fabric provides advanced levels of safety

LIGHTWEIGHT
Flame-Resistant clothing has long been considered heavy to wear, which
leaves the wearer uncomfortable and venerable to heat-related illness.
TECGEN SELECT® Brand Fabric, at 5.5 ounces per square yard, is the perfect
solution to this problem. Compared to most fabric options with the same
level of protection, TECGEN SELECT® is over 20% lighter weight without
sacrificing protection. TECGEN SELECT® has an ATPV of 8.9 cal/cm2.
BREATHABLE
The air permeability, also referred to as breathability, of legacy FR fabrics
traditionally have been unbalanced. While cotton-based FR fabrics achieve low
air permeability that restrict air flow to the wearer’s body, other inherently
flame resistant fabrics provide extremely high breathability
that leave wearers too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. TECGEN
SELECT® has a well-balanced air permeability rating that allows
the body to cool off in the summer and stay insulated in the winter, for yearround comfort.
MOISTURE-WICKING
Compared to other FR fabrics, TECGEN SELECT®
provides exceptional moisture-wicking capability
to keep workers dry throughout the day. Cottonbased FR absorbs moisture from the skin very
well but can be slow to evaporate sweat.
Traditional inherent fabrics offer little or no
moisture-absorbing capabilities. Using a blend
of hydrophilic and hydrophobic inherently flame
resistant fibers, TECGEN SELECT® removes sweat
from the wearer’s skin and evaporates it quickly
to keep workers dry and comfortable.
