The system does not use artificial membranes or chemicals, such as chlorine, and requires no mechanical assistance or electrified blower for aeration of the wastewater. There is no requirement for monthly maintenance. In some jurisdictions government regulation requires the application of UV (Ultra Violet) sterilisation as a final fluid disinfectant prior to dispersal and use, though the system does not depend on UV for the high levels of water quality and purification delivered. The H2O Pure Plus® system usually comprises three separate models, which have been designed to suit most, if not all, domestic and commercial applications. Each installation is subject to individual application and fee and is subject to assessment and approval by the relevant approving authority. They are described on the following pages. Tools and Equipment: (KV to provide list of tools required including PVC primer and cement, Teflon™ tape ...width, Crescent Wrench, Medium Phillips-head screwdriver, Small adjustable (“crescent”) wrench or metric socket drivers, ) (Graphic representation of each) Facilities Planning: State Authority Approval: The H2O Pure Plus® system achieved “Advanced Secondary Quality Effluent” approval from the Queensland Government’s Department of Infrastructure and Planning and its statutory authorities Plumbers and Drainage Board and Building Codes Queensland in 2008. The approval is the highest level of accreditation available in Australia and is based upon a stringent independent testing regime over 26 weeks, which was undertaken through NATA registered laboratories, and meeting the requirements of JAS-ANZ joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand, and the Standards Mark™ Quality Assurance program. Each Australian State has different guidelines for the minimum requirements for the On-site treatment of wastewater. Local Authority Approval: Essentially, before local authorities can provide an “approval to operate” a manufactured Wastewater Treatment System, it must be accredited by the State authorities. The manufacturer and or licensed provider of any H2O Pure Plus® system will assist with the local authority approval process for any On-site installation and “approval to operate”, which may include approval to construct and install, maintenance and monitoring of individual units at specific sites. It is usual that the manufacturer provide to each local authority the following information where it is intended to install a Wastewater Treatment System in their locality, once state accreditation is obtained: statement of warranty statement of service life quality assurance certification installation manual and service manuals household operators manual service report form engineering drawings in A3 format detailed specifications A4 site plans accreditation documentation from State authority Copyright © 2008 H2O Pure Plus Pty Ltd. H2O Pure Plus® is happy to assist with the provision of documentation to streamline Local Authority approval processes at a nominal fee at time of commitment to proceed. Site Preparation: An A4 plan of the site is required for all installations. An example of typical site plan follows: (Graphic of typical site plan, i.e. in relation to dwelling) A Licensed Plumber who has undertaken appropriate training and authorisation by H2O Pure Plus Pty Ltd must carry out any installation. A licensed electrical contractor is required for the installation of electrically driven components to a switchboard. Earth works can be undertaken either by H2O Pure Plus® authorised contractors or by third party contractors engaged by the homeowner or business proprietor. Where third party contractors are used H2O Pure Plus® must approve excavation dimensions and integrity prior to application to Local Authority. Because most H2O Pure Plus® systems are ‘buried’ below ground contractors must ensure proximate availability of excavated materials for back filling around the sides and over the top of the modules. The dimensions of excavations will vary slightly depending upon the system to be installed and whether an existing installation such as Septic Tank or Grey water Collection Tank can enable a retrofit. On-site Assembly (Difficult Access) Prevailing site conditions determine system installation requirements, which will be carried out in accordance with relevant Local Authority approval. In each instance, installation will be carried out by a Licensed Plumber or certified installers approved by H2O Pure Plus®. The unique modular design of each of the H2O Pure Plus® systems also enable them to be fabricated in-situ, thereby leaving even the most difficult to access sites with the least disturbance to surrounding environmental amenity. While excavation works are similar for most installations on-site assembly of the modular panels and the addition of natural treatment media in each can incur extra installation time and cost. Prefabricated (Easy Access) Prefabricated systems are designed to be delivered to site, unloaded by Franna Crane and lifted directly into the appropriately pre-prepared excavation.ALicensed Plumber authorised by H2O Pure Plus® must carry out the installation A licensed electrician is required for any electrical wiring connecting the submersible pump, UV steriliser and Zeta Rod™ to the main switchboard. In most domestic installations a connection for the submersible pump and UV steriliser to an externally mounted weatherproof two-pin plug will be sufficient. Copyright © 2008 H2O Pure Plus Pty Ltd. It has been developed over more than a quarter of a century and has undergone one of the most stringent water quality testing and quality assurance regimes ever. The H2O Pure Plus® system purifies both black and grey water naturally in a sealed anaerobic environment. The treatment process requires no chemicals, uses no membranes and needs no mechanical assistance. As a result the need for ongoing and regular maintenance is kept to a minimum, i.e. there is no need for costly three or four monthly technical support visits. Black and grey wastewater purified by H2O Pure Plus® exceeds quality standards of all state and local authorities in Australia. After a rigorous testing regime over 26 weeks, the H2O Pure Plus® system has set new water quality standards and now exceeds the highest level of water quality standards in Australia, having been approved for Advanced Secondary Standard A+ with the Grey wastewater and at High Secondary Standard A with the Black wastewater. The system meets the requirements of “The Queensland Plumbing and Wastewater Code”. While not essential to the purification process, UV disinfection is supplied to meet regulatory requirements for internal wastewater use. As well as external reuse, purified H2O Pure Plus® water can be reused inside the home or business, without endangering personal or community health. H2O Pure Plus® purified water poses no threat to the environment. Accompanying the H2O Pure Plus® system are three sophisticated devices that assist in sustaining long term water quality and enable you to constantly monitor that quality. Zeta Rod™ (Optional) The first is the Zeta Rod™, a robust and sophisticated ceramic electrode which delivers a safe electrostatic charge to minimise scaling, corrosion and biofouling. The Zeta Rod™ helps to keep storage tanks and water delivery pipes clean, stopping the buildup of biofilm, which provides both habitat and food supply for a range of bacteria including Legionella. In commercial cooling towers the Zeta Rod™ eliminates the requirement for chemical pH control, corrosion inhibitors, and biocides, maintains heat transfer efficiency, and reduces water and sewer costs. The UV S12Q-PA disinfects up to 90 litres per minute and achieves 99.9% destruction of any bacteria and viruses. H2O Pure Plus® Monitor The third is the H2O Pure Plus® Monitor. There are two versions – Commercial and Domestic. Both provide the measuring and monitoring of water quality 24 hours per day seven days a week and deliver to you in ‘real time’ an accurate assessment of water quality within the H2O Pure Plus® system. And if anything goes wrong, an alarm ensures you are the first to know. Monitoring systems – Commercial, Domestic in-house module) H2O Pure Plus® - What you need to know. What you can use. All installations of the H2O Pure Plus® systems are subject to individual application and fee to the relevant approving local authority. Essentially this is an assessment of prevailing site conditions to determine the system installation requirements and an ‘approval to operate’. 2. A Licensed Plumber who has undertaken appropriate training and authorisation by H2O Pure Plus ® must carry out installation. 3. The purification modules are sealed and require no ongoing maintenance. Extended periods of non-use, such as holidays, have no impact on the anaerobic purification process. Modules must not be uncovered or unsealed without written authorisation by H2O Pure Plus®. Any works on the modules must be undertaken by a Licensed Plumber or contractor authorised by H2O Pure Plus®. Unauthorised intervention will void the H2O Pure Plus® and perhaps other Warranties. 4. When the H2O Pure Plus® system is not in use it condensates its own fluid and continues the purification process. That means you can take holidays and not have to worry. 5. Sludge does build up in the Primary Treatment Module (PTM) and should be pumped out and disposed of once every 5 years by an EPA licensed operator or a Local council facility and disposed of in approved disposal site. 6. The UV Disinfection unit and manual Monitoring unit must be installed and maintained in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturers. 7. By local authority regulation, each installation must be serviced once every 12 months by an authorised agent of the manufacturers. H2O Pure Plus® will notify property owner/tenant of due date and complete an official Service Report, which must be provided to the local authority. 8. Service Report will include: Check and test well pump. Check for Odour. Check Sludge thickness in Primary Separator tank. Check operation of Monitoring System and service if necessary. Check readings of Monitoring system: PH, ORP, Conductivity, Turbidity. Report on weather conditions and wastewater temperature. Clean Monitoring system probes in well. Check and test alarm system. Check, clean or change UV lamp globe. Check surface pop-up irrigation sprinklers. Constant Water Quality Monitoring 1. Each H2O Pure Plus® system is installed with a manual Monitoring unit inside the customers home to enable to easily access water quality data. The monitoring unit eliminates the need for the collection of effluent samples every few months. Copyright © 2008 H2O Pure Plus Pty Ltd. All rights reserved. In many ways, it is a “get and forget” system; it has no filtration membranes that clog up and need constant cleaning or replacing, no mechanical agitators that often break down, and no electrical blowers that often burn out and are expensive to run. There is also no need for the relentless use of toxic chemicals such as chlorine to maintain a semblance of water quality control. Because the purification modules of the H2O Pure Plus® system are sealed and usually placed underground and covered by topsoil or concrete, such as a driveway, unauthorised access to the units is not only difficult but will void the Warranty. Local Authority regulation requires an annual maintenance service and service report to ensure the integrity of water quality, and each of the supplementary components – the Zeta Rod™, the UV Steriliser, the submersible pump and the Monitoring unit – require annual maintenance checks and reports. Maintenance Timetable: When What Every 12 months Service Call & Service Report (see details below) Every 5 years Remove Solids from Primary Treatment Module H2O Pure Plus® Who EPA Licensed operator or Local Authority to approved disposal site Annual Maintenance: The servicing report will contain: Check and test well pump. Check readings of Monitoring system: PH, ORP, Conductivity, Turbidity. Report on weather conditions and wastewater temperature. Clean Monitoring system probes in well. Check and test alarm system. Check, clean or change UV lamp globe. Check surface pop-up irrigation sprinklers. Annual Service Report: To be signed by H2O Pure Plus® authorised technician and by owner/tenant H2O Pure Plus ® will submit the Original to the Local Authority. A copy will be provided to the owner/tenant. A second copy will be retained by H2O Pure Plus® System Pump-out (5 Yearly) H2O Pure Plus® will advise the owner/tenant when the time has come (every five years) to have the Primary Treatment Module (PTM) pumped out by a licensed waste disposal operator. The build-up of solids into a thick layer of sludge occurs naturally, as with a septic tank. The owner/tenant is responsible for both the arranging of the pump-out and for the cost. Failure to do so may have an impact on water quality, the integrity of the operation of the system, and may void the system’s Warranty and that of component parts. Because the Secondary Treatment Modules (STM), which contain the natural purification media, are sealed and in most cases buried underground they should never have to be unsealed and disturbed. The Primary Treatment Module (PTM) has two 100mm I.O. (Inspection Openings) at surface for easy internal inspection and simple maintenance, such as blockage to the wastewater line. There is also a 600mm Service Opening over the pump well and wastewater inlet area of the PTM. The H2O Pure Plus® Warranty would be automatically void if the integrity of the system is compromised in any way through interference and possible damage by unauthorised entry to the system. Normal usage of added-on component parts, such as Submersible Pump, UV Steriliser, Zeta Rod™ and Monitoring units will incur normal wear and tear and may need maintenance to prolong their working life. H2O Pure Plus® have chosen the highest quality assured third party equipment available to ensure minimum disruption to the overall operational consistency of the system.
