THE INTEGRATED
APPROACH
EI presents its annual guide on what to see, hear and experience
at this year’s ISE show taking place at its home of the RAI Centre,
Amsterdam from February 10-12, 2015.
Artcoustic will be
showing the diversity
of its offering from
high performance to
bespoke designs
Installers can find out
about Elan g1 at the
show
Always worth checking out at ISE, Artcoustic will be on
Stand 7-X185 putting the brand’s new Performance Series
through its paces. Paul Cummin, UK MD, says: “We will
be demonstrating the new Performance Series with their
worldwide launch (after the prototypes received such a
great response at Essential Install Live! North last year), as
well as showcasing the diversity possible with Artcoustic
loudspeakers. From the Performance or Spitfire series for state
of the art Dolby Atmos cinemas, through to bespoke colours
for small discrete models like the Targets from the SL Series,
Artcoustic can offer many amazing loudspeaker solutions.”
Core Brands (Stand 1-N70) has a big presence from across
its portfolio of brands and will take the opportunity to launch
the Elan g1 affordable entertainment and control system. The
product promises to bring Elan home control platform to a
broad range of applications, via the g1, which is designed
to focus on media rooms, smaller projects, secondary
homes, production builder packages and as a universal
remote alternative.
The product is designed to deliver a versatile lowerpoint-of-entry controller and OSD extender robustly
configured with three IR
outputs, one IR input,
one bi-directional
RS232 input, one
sensor, one HDMI
output (720p/1080p)

compatibility and LAN serving is also available with the PU4H4HBTE-4K, increasing transmission distance up to 100m
(receivers sold separately).
ICE Cable systems is showcasing its increasing range of
installer centric cable solutions on Stand 2-E40.
Visitors can get a close look at ICE Cable Systems
pre-terminated and field-terminable varieties including the
Clear Series 2 HDMI pre-terminated line, which incorporates
a compact head design with a GRIP lock connector providing
up to 15 lbs of pull-force. ICE Cable says an active chipset and
proprietary premium cable design makes possible transmission
of 1080P/60 HZ up to 30m without extenders and the cable is
available in lengths from .5mto 30m (in black or white) and is
pre-cut and terminated.
With in-wall installation in mind, the maker is also
delivering field-terminable HDMI wire, connectors and
accessories. An internal locking head, along with internal
ribbon cable and round jacket designs looks to deliver a
fast connection and easy pulling. The manufacturer says
the product is capable of sending HDMI signals up to 24m
(with extender) and a crimp tool and tester are available to
complement the cable system.
Installers can also learn about ICE Cable’s new The
REELEX II technology, which is a key element in ICE Cable
Systems Big Mouth Payout bulk wire carton, that offers
conveniences such as ascending and descending foot
markers on the cable jackets and durable 24 kilogram
burst-tested cardboard with dual-layer handles. ICE Cables’
systems are available in the UK from Invision UK.

Created to provide custom control and feedback,
the KX10 in-wall colour touchpanel delivers on-screen
management of entertainment and environmental systems
via IR or RS232. Full two-way control is possible when the
unit is used as part of a complete RTI control system and the
unit offers a 10.1in widescreen, capacitive touch LCD display
and allows video viewing via an HDBaseT video port and a
composite video input for viewing sources, such as security
cameras. A built-in camera and microphone delivers video
intercom functionality.
RTI will also feature its newest control processor, the XP9,
providing the ability to process installation-wide system control
and two-way feedback directly from any RTI user interface.
Equipped with intuitive support for on-screen display control
capabilities, the processor has an HDMI output, nine routable
IR ports, eight two-way RS232 ports, eight sense ports, eight
relays, a multi-tasking operating system and an astronomical
clock. The XP9 features Ethernet connection capabilities to
ease software downloads and enable IP control and support
for the RTiPanel and Virtual Panel Apps.
Another Invision brand, RTI will be on Stand 5-R78, showcasing
a touchpanel, processor, drivers and control options.
Scott Kelley, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI,
says: “At this year’s show, RTI will highlight new additions

Essential ISE 2015 PREVIEW
Fall for Leaf’s new kit
on Stand 10-N114
Leaf will be demonstrating its new Ultra (LU) Series, the
company’s HDCP 2.2 compliant Ultra High Definition (HD)
matrix range on the Control4 Stand (10-N114). Also, on
show will be what the company says are the thinnest PoH
enabled HDBaseT Class A receivers available.
Compatible with 4K 24, 30 and 60 formats, the new Leaf
Ultra HD LU range comprises both HDBaseT Class A and
Class B models with Power over HDBaseT (PoH). There
are four models in the new series to suit different project
requirements. Leaf describes the LU1082 as the only 10 x
10 4K UHD matrix on the market with 10 HDMI inputs, eight
HDBaseT outputs and two local HDMI outputs for in rack AV
receivers. Other options include the LU862 (8 HDMI inputs /
6 HDBaseT outputs / 2 HDMI outputs), the LU642 (6 HDMI
inputs / 4 HDBaseT outputs / 2 HDMI outputs) and the
LU642NAP, an HDBaseT Class B system that is supplied as
a package, complete with four LU1 HDBaseT receivers.
Three of the four models (LU1082, LU862 and LU642)
feature an independent audio matrix, with coaxial digital
audio inputs and stereo audio outputs, including variable line
level, bass and treble controls and audio delay for lip-sync
adjustment. These units also offer an integrated Ethernet
hub. The LAN port can be used not only to control the matrix,
but also ensures the incoming feed is internally switched and
sent onto the LU1E HDBaseT Receivers.
The LU1E (with Ethernet connection) HDBaseT Receiver
is just 17mm thick promoting placement flexibility and using
CAT6a, 4K can be extended up to 100m on the LU 1082,
LU862 and LU642 models and up to 40m on the LU642NAP
packaged version.
Amina Technologies will be highlighting the recent upgrade
to its Evolution range of Invisible Loudspeakers, which
includes the addition of a Dual Input ‘single-stereo’ to
the line-up. Designed to be used in ‘design critical’ high
end residential interiors and commercial spaces and then
skimmed over with plaster, the new versions add the ability
to be embedded behind other surface materials including
leather, wood veneers, acrylics and high pressure laminates.
Amina has been further refining its exciter designs and
has incorporated the latest revised high power, low frequency
optimised exciter into the Evolution i Series products.
Visually, the new Evolution i series products are identifiable
as the rear chassis has been redesigned to expose all the
exciters in each product, not just the nickel plated High
Frequency optimised exciter as has been the case on the
previous products. The chassis redesigns were undertaken
to take full advantage of the improvements made to the high
power exciters resulting in reduced harmonic distortion and a
smoother bass response.
The first product to be released is the AIW550i, the
upgrade to the AIW550E, the remainder of the established
range will be upgraded over the next two months: the
AIW150i and AIW350i replacing their E counterparts and the
addition of the AIW450i Dual Input model which replaces
the AIW4X.
Also on show and made specifically to Amina’s
specification by UK based fire hood specialist, Hoody, three
products are launching; Firehood200, Firehood300 and
Firehood345. The numerals refer to the compatible speaker/
back box size and Amina recommends that installers use a
fire hood in conjunction with the BackboxCV acoustic back
box to improve on the 21dB sound isolation in wall and
ceiling cavities that the BackboxCV provides.
Amina’s acoustic fire hoods are designed to provide
60 minute fire protection and are tested to BS EN 1363-1.
They also comply with UK building regulations Document
B (Fire Safety) and Document E (Resistance to the
Passage of Sound).
Lastly, Amina will be announcing the new Slot-Vented
ALF120 Passive Subwoofer for installation within standard
cavity walls.
The company’s highest performance model yet, the
ALF120, is designed particularly with home cinemas in mind
and also for large room, high sound pressure stereo systems.
The ALF120 is 1.6m tall and will comfortably fit within
standard 400mm stud-wall bays. Check out all the new
developments on Stand 1-P19.
Security specialist, LILIN will take the opportunity to present
its new NVR series specifically developed for the CI market
on Stand 10-N114. Available to view on the Control4
Stand, the new NVRs have no front panel controls, are
finished in high gloss black and are now sold on processing
performance rather than number of channels.
The new models are all 16 channel and are available in
100, 200 and 400fps, LILIN says this means that not only
are customer requirements better matched, but it is also now
possible to buy a 16 channel HD NVR cheaper than LILIN’s
original four channel model. LILIN will also be putting the new
IP based modular pinhole camera through its paces. The
main unit and sensor unit are connected by a 6m long cable
