and Regional Development of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with the aim to include
Vineta as a „suitable marine area“ for offshore wind power in the State Spatial Development
Programme.

Pumped Storage Plants
WV Energie AG works on the development of two pumped-storage hydropower
stations in Germany and a bordering country.
 Pumped-storage hydropower stations have a upper and a lower water reservoir.
 During off-peak hours, water gets pumped from the lower to the upper reservoir.
 During peak-load periods, the masonry dam is opened. The flowing water drives power
generators in the plant which create the needed electricty..
