What is the purpose of the role? The primary purpose of the role is to analyse specific capability gaps and develop sustainable strategies to ensure effective and efficient business outcomes for the Branch in 1-3 years. The role supports timely and appropriate skill, knowledge and behavioural development for individuals. The role directly supports the Riverina Technical Training program and future capability of TS. 2. What contribution does the role make? The role provides a dedicated management focus with technical, leadership and system knowledge sufficient enough to engage various stakeholders. This includes all matters concerning the technical and/or leadership development of Technical Services staff as well as facilitate and oversight development programs for field technical staff. The role interacts closely with Technical Services Managers and Learning Academy staff to lead training needs prioritisation and scheduling and provides a significant contribution to the development programs for trainees and apprentices. The role assists the design and delivery of fit for purpose training programs, cultural events and related activities; providing information to others. Technical Accountabilities: 1. Strategically prepare for future business and workforce requirements by researching and analysing emerging human resource, workforce and industry best practice trends in order to develop and implement strategic resource plans. 2. Leads the design and implementation of a national competency database for TS, tracks progress of individuals, and makes adjustments based on change, reports progress and/or emerging capability risks. 3. Administration of field training programs and placements to suit the needs of trainees and apprentices, including compliance with prescribed industry licensing. 4. Undertakes research and analysis for the purpose of supporting managers and/or individuals in addressing knowledge, skill or behavioural development needs. 5. Leads meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to ensure a fit for purpose approach to knowledge transfer is development and maintained. 3. Researches a variety of information (e.g. courses, materials, training consultants, etc.) for the purpose of recommending and implementing appropriate leadership development programs. 7. Seeks feedback and monitors professional development training services for the purpose of ensuring that performance outcomes are achieved within budget and in line with defined objectives. People Accountabilities: 1. Develop the capability of staff, trainees and apprentices to address the future requirements of Technical Services by providing coaching and support. 2. Mentor the competency development of staff, trainees and apprentices and cultivate efficient and effective development processes. 3. Maintain a high level of customer focus and engagement with managers, staff and external service providers. 4. Responds promptly to inquiries for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel. Planning/Scheduling Accountabilities: 1. Learning Academy Technology & Engineering School staff Work collaboratively with members of the Learning Academy to ensure effective technical learning outcomes. External stakeholders – Riverina Institute of TAFE; other external agencies and regulatory entities. Maintain external supplier relationships, where accountable, engaging with stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and understanding of requirements. 6. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s): 7.
