KOA KOA WALL SBP KOA design Silvia Paola Pennacchio KOA MAXI KOA MINI 2 KOA is SBP’s answer to functional and intelligent modern industrial lighting. A range of luminaires that has been designed and produced to offer high performance solutions with the most efficient LED light sources available on the market, along with ultra modern light distribution, power supply and light flow control systems. The KOA series has been designed to offer: - energy saving, compared to conventional solutions that make use of gas-discharge lamps; - an extensive range of models; - robustness and reliability as a result of the materials used; - high performance lighting in terms of efficiency; - excellent light engineering performance with specially studied optics to obtain high levels of uniform lighting; - quick and simple installation that makes use of rapid external plug-socket connectors; - rapid hooking device. KOA is proposed in two sizes: - KOA MAXI, the large one, which is indicated to light up extensive industrial areas where high performance and a considerable amount of light are demanded; - KOA MINI, the small one, designed to light up small industrial areas that both high performance and a small luminaire. 3 SBP KOA KOA The KOA series is available in two versions that differ for optics type and mounting methods; hence, they are characterised by the type of application: - KOA, the version for industrial installations, warehouses and commercial areas, comes with a strong steel hook that is suitable for chains and metal ropes; - KOA WALL, the version for outdoor areas of industrial sheds, such as industrial buildings’ boundaries, is completed with a strong steel bracket for wall mounting. KOA WALL HEAT DISSIPATION The large ribs on the back of the body enhance exchange of the considerable heat generated by LED lights with the surrounding environment. Moreover, their particular layout, combined with the geometrical features of the body, encourages the outflow of rain water, thus avoiding dangerous stagnation and build-up of dirt that could affect heat dissipation in time. The specially designed High Performance multi-lens system acts as a protective screen, and is directly in contact with the LED module. This achieves: - elimination of insulating air chambers between the LED module and the protective screen, which prevents air circulation and heat dissipation; - direct contact between the lens and the external environment to allow air circulation and dispersion of heat generated by the LEDs, to promote maximum duration of performance in time. 4 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION All KOA and KOA WALL models are fitted with a quick, waterproof, male-female connector that allows to connect the luminaire to the mains without opening the device. Beyond granting a quick installation, this guarantees the safety of having a product sealed at the factory, and the certainty that the lighting system is intact; hence, it avoids accidental damage during the process of connecting the luminaire to the mains. Moreover, the system allows to drastically cut down the time required to connect it, thus saving on installation costs. On request, the luminaire can be produced to be connected in a continuous line. 5 SBP The Koa series is the result of the experience and thorough knowledge in compliance with applicable regulations. This goal has been achieved thanks to: - a new concept of thermally optimised heat-sink to obtain the utmost LED efficiency in terms of lumen output and duration; - optics designed for industrial lighting, produced with special high transmittance plastic polymers to drastically reduce the losses due to reflections and refractions of the same through deviation devices, reflection or refraction. 6 S/EW SYMMETRICAL EXTRA WIDE OPTICS ELL ELLIPTIC OPTICS SR STREET OPTICS K IN PROG SS RE WOR The lenses designed for industrial lighting (KOA) and for street lighting (KOA WALL) offer high levels of uniform lighting. The lens, besides being the first means of lighting control and distribution, primary optics, acts as a protective screen that prevents the need of a secondary means of lighting control and the external screen. This allows to recover more than 8% of light flow. The use of specific high transmittance materials that are stabilised with heat and UV radiations ensures high photometric performance and long duration in time. A ASYMMETRICAL OPTICS PROTECTION AGAINST IMPACT WITH A BALL KOA luminaires are also suitable to light up sports facilities. Produced entirely with shatterproof materials (there are no glass parts), prevent the possibility of damage to objects or people hypotetically generated by falling parts. The Reflex Comfort System optic has been designed with a double deviation system and developed so that the light emitted by each LED is distributed on the entire area to be illuminated, thus creating a layer of light. Therefore, the light generated is the sum of the layers of light of the individual LED mounted in the luminaire. UNIFORM LIGHT DISTRIBUTION û SBP has specially studied the lenses to obtain square (S/EW optics) and rectangular (ELL optics) light distribution to enhance light uniformity on the ground and optimise the installation. This has allowed to increase the interaxis between luminaires with subsequent use of a smaller number of luminaires, compared to conventional rotosymmetrical optics. 9 SBP KOA KOA is a series of strong and efficient LED luminaires designed and produced to light up industrial environments, warehouses and sales areas. It uses high performance, new generation LED Multichips, and is available in two sizes: KOA MINI available in the following configurations - 8LED -16 LED -KOA MAXI available in the following configurations -16 LED -24 LED -32 LED Every KOA model is available with two different specially studied optics that can ensure uniform high performance light engineering solutions. They are available with 4,000K LED. Versions can be produced with CRI 80 and with 3,000K or 5,000K colour temperature, on request. For ceiling installation, Koa comes with a suspension hook and a safety steel wire. Especially suitable for all the pedestrian paths and driveways that surround an industrial and commercial area where outdoor goods handling and forwarding activities are performed. WIRELESS ANTENNA PRESENCE DETECTOR 1-10 V ENERGY SAVING 16 Every KOA MAXI SMART EASY is fitted with an infrared sensor (triggered by the average mass and temperature of a human body) and an internal interface fitted with a wireless antenna. It acts both as transmitter and receiver, and directly communicates with other luminaires. Every KOA MAXI SMART EASY that detects the presence of a person, positions the light level at 100% of the flow (FULL LEVEL) and transmits a wireless signal to other luminaires (within a radius of 50 m), positioning them too at full level. This creates a light spot that dynamically follows the person by lighting up the surrounding area. It is only available on KOA MAXI and at a maximum height of 12 m. KOA MAXI SMART EASY is designed to act on three lighting levels that are set as specified below: 100% FULL LEVEL: level reached by the system when it detects the passage of a person or receives a radio order from another device that has detected the passage of a person. This level persists for a period of 60 seconds, and can be adjusted as required. 35% INTERMEDIATE LEVEL: standard level at which the luminaire is positioned when the Smartwalk sensor does not detect the presence of people. The level of default light is set at 35%. 10% LOW LEVEL: the level to which the system sets itself at late night, when nobody is around. It is based on recognising the virtual midnight (mean of the last 4 times the luminaire was switched on). The default light level is set at 10%. CUSTOMISATIONS Lumens level as well as duration periods can be adjusted at will can be customised by stating personal requirements when the order is placed. Customisation can also be directly performed on site on luminaires that are installed with a dedicated wireless USB stick, which can be requested from the Company when the order is placed. The intervention radius can also be reduced to 50 m, on request. This solution is applied to maximise energy saving by adjusting the settings to only activate the luminaires around the temporary work area or for small premises. Said adjustment too can either be directly requested when the order is placed or directly implemented on site. 17 CUS TO M V ER SI O NS SBP KOA MAXI SMART plus It is a complete system for intelligent power systems that especially feature flexibility. ENERGY SAVING 18 - + The system is based on a 868 MHz wireless platform and includes luminaires that are fitted with a highly intelligent device for complete management of light, a complete sensory range to detect the person and lighting levels, and dedicated control stations. KOA MAXI SMART PLUS allows to create systems that dynamically interact with the surrounding environment by modulating the flow level of luminaires based on natural light variations or on the specific need by detecting staff in the work place. The entire system is wireless controlled and needs no additional control line. System flexibility is highest with a dedicated management software that allows to programme the luminaires as required at any time, even after installation. Sometimes this is an average value derived from the range indicated by the producer. -Real lumen indicate the luminous flux output of the luminaire. The real flux is therefore generally lower than the nominal flux because it depends on the luminaire’s thermal regime and the use of reflectors, diffusers, screens or lenses to direct the light. -Wattage drawn indicated in the table includes not only absorption by the LED light source, but also driver’s loss or other necessary electronic components of the luminaire. We then indicate the total amount of energy actually consumed by the luminaire.
