g GE Lighting FILTERGLOW GENERAL DESCRIPTION The luminaire shall be suitable for mounting heights greater than 5m and shall operate with high-pressure sodium, metal halide and mercury vapour up to 1000watts. The ballast shall be suitable for continuous indoor applications and damping environments (protection degree IP65 and IP52 for optical assembly, and optionally, IP54 for control gear). Ballast, housing, optical and luminaire assembly shall all belong to the same manufacturer to ensure a suitable quality. MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION The luminaire shall be made of two linkable parts, the ballast compartment and the optical assembly to provide easy relamping and maintenance operations. The ballast housing and structural parts, including mounting hubs, shall be of diecast aluminium. All pieces shall have paint powder finish, electrostatically sprayed and oven cured. The finishing shall fit the UNE 48024-80, 48059-82 and 48099-85 Standards. FG-22 1/7 g GE Lighting To facilitate mounting, the luminaire shall have separate lightweight mounting components than can be easily removed from the ballast housing and assembled to the structural or mounting hardware prior to mounting the remainder of the luminaire. The mounting device must provide a positive vibration-resistant locking means including a set screw. OPTICAL ASSEMBLY Mounting of the optical assembly to the ballast assembly must be secured by positive, vibration-resistant means. The optical and ballast assembles must include a positive aligning electrical sliding disconnect allowing the socket to be shipped factory assembled as part of the optical assembly. The disconnect must have no exposed live metal parts. The optical assembly shall be enclosure. It consists of a hydroformed high-purity aluminium reflector, faceted to ensure accurate light control and reduced glare. The reflector finishing shall be made by means of the process called ALGLAS, i.e., a thin unbreakable glass film covering (silica almost pure) using chemical processes, which provides high-protection to corrosion, durability and easy maintenance and cleaning. A spun aluminium cone is fitted to the reflector top part, which has paint powder finish. Both the porcelain lamp socket and its positioning mechanism are hold in this cone. The positioning device allows the change of the photometric distribution by means of using only one screwdriver. One-conical piece of borosilicate glass, with its joints, shall achieve the hermeticity of the top output-light windows. The upper opened part of the optical assembly directs part of the light beam upwards reducing the contrast between the luminaire and the surrounding. This upper cone shall also incorporate an activated charcoal filter that shall absorb, at least the 60% of the pollutant gases and the suspended solid particles in the air. The test shall use the SO2 gas as a pattern and the maximum particle size shall be 10. FG-22 2/7 g GE Lighting The optical assembly closure shall include a tempered glass door, 4mm thick, resistant to thermal and mechanical stress fixed in a detachable iron frame with a silicone gasket. This door will be easy removal without tools. The closure shall be fitted to the reflector with a hinge and stainless steel latches that press adequately the gasket to get the protection degree against dust and water. FG-22 3/7 g GE Lighting FG-22 4/7 g GE Lighting FG-17 LUMINAIRE GENERAL DESCRIPTION The luminaire shall be suitable for a mounting height over 5m to operate with one high-pressure sodium, metal halide or mercury lamp up to 400 watt. The luminaire shall contain a integral ballast prewired completely in a housing designed to the effect. The luminaire shall be suitable for use indoor and damp environments (degree of protection IP65 for the optical assembly and IP52, IP54 under request, for the ballast housing). Ballast, housing, optical and luminaire assembly shall all be from the same manufacturer to ensure an appropriate quality. MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION To facilitate the installation, the maintenance and the reinstatements, the luminaire shall include a die-cast ballast housing and an optical assembly connected by a sliding connector. The die-cast aluminium ballast housing and conical socket holder shall have polyester electrocoat grey paint and shall be cured at 180ºC over and anticorrosion layer. To easy the installation, the luminaire shall have a ¾” NPSC threaded hub placed on the ballast housing top. This hub shall be remove easily from its place without FG-17 5/7 g GE Lighting tools and can be adapted to a hook or a ¾” hanging tube before mounting the rest of the luminaire. OPTICAL ASSEMBLY The join between the ballast housing and the optical assembly shall be safe and resistant to vibration. So, the ballast housing and the optical assembly shall have a sliding connector to guarantees a safe, fast and easy electrical and mechanical connection between them. The connector shall be isolated against casual contacts. The optical assembly shall be closed. It shall contain a one-piece faceted highpurity aluminium reflector. This faceted reflector reduces and controls the glare and provides a perfect photometric distribution. The reflector finish shall be anodized and sealed of 3 thickness (minimum). The reflector will be joined to a die cast aluminium conical cover where is placed the E40 ceramic lamp socket and the mechanism to adjust the socket position. Eleven different socket positions are available and they can be easily changed with an ordinary screwdriver to obtain the need photometric distribution. A borosilicate glass top cone directs part of the light beam towards the upper hemisphere, lighting the ceilings, reducing the contrast between the luminaire and the surroundings and giving a more comfortable visual environment. The conical cover shall incorporate a coal filter in the reflector, which adsorbs the gaseous pollutants and the solid particles present in the air. This filter absorbs, at least, 60 % of the gases pollutants and solid particles in suspension, inhaled by the optical assembly. The filter shall be tested with SO2 gas type and particles of 10 maximum size. The optical assembly closure shall include a tempered glass door, 4mm thick, resistant to thermal and mechanical stress fixed in a detachable iron frame with a silicone gasket. This door will be easy removal without tools. The closure shall be fitted to the reflector with a hinge and stainless steel latches that press adequately the gasket to get the protection degree against dust and water.
