The line of large capacity, heavy
duty, and configurable machining centers will be demonstrated
at IMTS 2010. The HU100 series
is the first range of configurable
machining centers aimed at a variety of manufacturing industries
interested in versatile equipment
for heavier applications. The
HU100 series is ideal for larger aerospace and power generation parts with a
work zone capacity of up to 2,500mm x 2,000mm. The machines accommodate
weights from 4,400 lb (2,000kg) to 17,500 lb (8,000kg). The machines can be
equipped with simple pallets changers to fully integrated FMS systems for work
and raw material handling. Likewise, tool handling systems range from on-board
magazines to central systems for more than 2,500 tools.

CNC Lathe with 14" Spindle
VDF 800 DUS Big Bore CNC lathe is engineered with a 14" spindle diameter, 32" swing over the bed, 17,600 lb part capacity,
and 4,500 lb Z-axis cutting force. The machine has a main drive rated at 50hp continuous, 74hp maximum, with 5,300ft/lb maximum torque. A 900rpm top speed gives the machine job-shop flexibility to handle a wide range of smaller diameter parts by

Wire EDM Delivers
Increased Speeds
The CUT 20P wire EDM features
a variety of new evolutions, including a dielectric unit with
three vertical Grundfos pumps
for increased performance.
CUT 20P handles wire diameters from 0.10mm to 0.30mm
with ease and offers the flexibility to satisfy requirements in
the fields of general engineering and standard stamping. The CUT 20P is equipped with Integrated Collision
Protection (ICP) on the X-, Y-, and Z-axes, which helps prevents any breakage of
sensitive parts and costly elements, allowing the operator to work with more confidence during job preparation and execution. Additionally, the CUT 20P features

On display at IMTS 2010 will be model 30i-B series CNC
control; 0i-D/0i-DMate control with enhanced functionality; the 35i-B CNC control for transfer line machines;

Four-Axis Robot Turning Center
QuickTECH IT-42 ROBO 4-axis lathe, with C-axis and
live tooling, delivers the advantage of robotic loading for
unmanned chucking operations. As a modified version
of the IT-42, the IT-42 ROBO features internal integration
of a Mitsubishi 6-axis articulated robot loaded with 88
programs. Advantages from the internally integrated robot are that no additional floor space is required and the
robot will not hinder the machine operator during setup
or while operating the Mitsubishi M700 control system.
IT-42 ROBO has a 42mm bar capacity, spindle speed
range of 4,000rpm/3,000rpm, and a 10hp Mitsubishi AC
spindle motor. High-precision HIWIN linear guideways
are employed, while the use of 35mm rails throughout
the machine delivers increased stability and accuracy.

Millturn with Real Inclined Bed
The M120 Millturn/6,500mm suits customers with machining
lengths from 78" to 315" and a swing of up to 48". Along with
strong power ranges (up to 168hp) and torque values (up to
8,680ft/lb) of the main spindle, enormous feedrates on all axes
make for maximum productivity. The 74hp gear-driven milling spindle guarantees maximum power even at low speed
rates – a huge advantage when using large drilling and milling cutters and especially in tough materials like titanium. The
phenomenal clamping forces of the B-axis allow for the use of

Vertical Turning Centers
The line of vertical turning centers have a programmable ±100mm Y-axis

The attachment areas for the main and sub-spindles have also
been enlarged – up to 190% for the main spindle and 94% for the
sub-spindle. In addition, the spindle body has been shortened
to minimize vibration, and the bearing diameter enlarged to improve rigidity. The built-in-motor and the new spindle designs
facilitate higher feeds and speeds, more accurate roundness,
longer tool life, and optimal surface finishes. A 24 position turret
mounts BMT65P live and stationary tools directly to the turret’s

The CSD-300 parallel spindle lathe securely handles parts 200mm x 100mm.
CSD-300 features a Fuji-engineered hydraulic clamping loader and 8" to 10"

High-Speed Machining Center with Linear Scales
The M10 Pro high speed machining center features linear scales on all axes
driven by larger motors and drives yielding a ±5µ positioning accuracies and
rapids up to 30mpm. The addition of linear scales led to the development of a
newly designed high-speed CNC control for 3- to 6-axes. The M10 Pro has a
direct-drive, liquid-chilled, 40,000rpm spindle using HSK-25E toolholders with
<1µ runout. With a gantry construction, the M10 Pro has a maximized work

Heavy-Duty 50 Taper HMC
GE90H is a heavy-duty horizontal machining center with large travels, a 630mm pallet, and a powerful 50-taper spindle. Enshu
