Lei Cheng Councillor, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on China Office of International Relations (SRI) Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) Biographical Note Lei Cheng has more than 15 years of experience in International Education, Business Development and Global Investment. More recently, he has held leadership roles at Montreal Chinese Community Center, a project from City of Montreal, as a Director General, and served as a China project manager in Ontario at Niagara College and District School Board of Niagara, where he started his career in Canada. As Director General at Montreal Chinese Community Center, Lei initiatives a new strategic development plan for the Center. Lei established and oversee four departments in the Center: the International Relationship Development Department, the Career Training and Education Department, the Projects Development Office and the Community Service Center. As the Manager of International Education at Niagara, Lei co-ordinated international joint project between Niagara College and Shanghai Business School supported through agreements signed by the former Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Jean Chrétien, and “Team Canada” in 2003. Lei joined a global investment firm in 2008, and acted as its partner. He has also designed and co-ordinated private contract training and overseas investment projects delivery in China, Korean, Japan, Malaysia, USA, and Canada. Since 2005, Lei acts as a volunteer advisor for the YorkBBS Quebec Forum by sharing information regarding study and immigration policies in Quebec and by promoting Career training programs in Quebec. After the implementation of projects successfully, Quebec created a new immigration categoryProgramme de l'expérience québécoise (PEQ) in 2007. Lei hold a master’s degree in Economics from the West Ontario University in London, Canada.
