GENERAL: The contractor shall furnish and install
Lightalarms Series 8XL, as indicated on all plans. Input power
shall be 120/277 volt AC, 60 Hz. (other voltages must be
specified).
CONSTRUCTION: The exit sign shall be housed in an extruded aluminum frame. Concealed knockouts for universal
mounting. Sign shall be available with stencil/diffuser face
having stenciled letters, field selectable universal chevron
knockouts and a break resistant fiberglass diffuser. Letters
shall be 8" high with a 3/4" stroke.
LED Lamps: Shall provide 100% illumination in normal and
emergency operation. LEDs shall be high intensity red and
shall have a clear lens to deliver optimum illumination of letters. LED lamps shall be mounted inside the exit housing, not
on the face. A color rich diffuser shall be mounted in front of
the LEDs to provide a full 3/4" letter stroke with even illumination. Brightness shall be equivalent to an exit sign legend
illuminated at seven foot candles.
Combo Lamp Heads: Emergency illumination is provided by
two PAR 36 size lamp assemblies, molded of high impact
thermoplastic. Heads are mounted directly to the front of the
power pack. Combo units can power up to three 5.4 watt
mounted and/or remote lamp heads.
Self-Powered Models: shall provide 90 minutes of battery
powered emergency illumination.
Charger: Shall be fully automatic, solid state, temperature
compensated and short-circuit proof.
Batteries: shall be completely sealed maintenance-free nickel cadmium or long life lead for Mini Systems.
Circuity: Shall include a LED pilot light and test switch and
brownout protection. A filtered and regulated power supply
shall protect the LEDs from typical power surges. All models
shall be 120/277 dual voltage.
WARRANTY*: Exit signs (less lamps) shall carry a 3 year
full warranty. LED shall carry a 5 year full warranty.
