About Komedia Bath
Komedia is an award winning arts and entertainment business. Having operated in Brighton
for 20 years, Komedia Bath opened in the Grade Two Listed former Beau Nash cinema in 2008.
Komedia Bath has quickly established itself as one of the best leasing mid-scale
venues in the UK. Since opening we have hosted the best in touring comedy from the likes of
Russell Howard, Ross Noble and Greg Davies. On the music front the venue is equally at home
hosting Ruby Turner and Clare Teal to the likes of The Levellers, Chase & Status and Roni Size.
Here at Komedia Bath we have two beautiful fully flexible venue spaces, suitable for capacities ranging from 50 - 783. Komedia Bath is available for private hire.

Included in your hire
Komedia Bath provides everything that you need to host your own event. Included in your
hire fee is the following:
•All technical equipment (as per technical specification - available on request), including professional quality sound system, lights, projectors and screens.
•All staff for the event including experienced event managers, bar manager
and staff, technical Manager, meet & greet staff and / or security & box
office staff if required. We also provide experienced chefs and waiting staff if catering is provided.
•All tables, chairs, stools, table cloths, cutlery and crockery (if you are using our in-house catering services).
•Experienced events team to meet you prior to your event, ensuring you get the best possible service and event for your audience.
•Private dressing room space for artists.
•Cloakroom.

Komedia’s Arts Café space is an ideal space
for smaller gigs, with a more “intimate” feel.

Accomodation
Komedia Bath also has a flat located close to
the venue, which is suitable for accomodation
or as additional dressing room space.
This sleeps a maximum of eight people and
comprises a kitchen, double master bedroom,
a twin bedroom, plus a lounge which has
double and single beds.
The flat use includes bedding, towels and
WiFi access.

We have a flat next door which can be utilised as a day room / dressing room
or for overnight accomodation. Sleeps 8 max sharing, 2 bedrooms & 1 lounge
for sleeping and all fully furnished. Costs available on rate card.

In foyer for standing events and side of building box office for seated events.
Bar in Auditorium and Balcony. Foyer bar available for standing gigs only,
plus usherette sellers.
Ample ladies and gents toilets on both floors, with disabled on ground floor.
No allocated spaces nearby, but street parking (single yellow line) on Westgate
Street is free after 6pm. Komedia has a disabled toilet with access and ramp
entry and full ramp in auditorium.
Komedia has no artist parking but please contact us for infomation about local
car parks and Bath’s one-way system. For coach parking please see Lower
Bristol Road coach park or Riverside coach park.
Excellent throughout venue.
All Komedia staff are fully trained but for under 18s shows stewards are
required from hirer.
Komedia Bath does not charge merchandise commission. Venue staff can be
supplied to sell merchandise at a flat fee of £40 per event.
Please discuss at the time of booking.
Best level access for pianos and large equipment is via Westgate Street at the front of the venue
and main stage get in at the back of the building (in Saw Close, next to Schwartz Bros).

Our stage is 4m x 8m, with a 1m x 6m additional front thrust fitting between sub stacks, taking it up to
5m x 8m. We have four pieces of steel deck at 2m x 1m that can be used in applicable configurations
using 16 legs @ 30cm.

Please note: Komedia does NOT own or operate a monitor desk.
Should you require a monitor desk you should arrange to hire one via your promoter. In addition please
arrange for a suitable signal splits system and relevant XLR cable looms to be hired at the same time.
The splits system should be capable of splitting the same number of channels as your acts’ technical spec
requires. Lastly unless your artists travels with their own monitor engineer you will need to pay for an
additional engineer to operate the monitor system as the Komedia employs one engineer to oversee the
PA and operate the F.O.H desk for any support acts and one engineer to operate the lighting.

RIGGING / LADDERS / BARRIERS
Komedia Bath does not have an in house crowd barrier but we do have good links with local hire
companies stocking mojo type barrier - which are installed and insured to current legislative requirements.
Any outside hire / install of barrier of any type will require risk assessment, insurance documents and
sign-off on day of install. Show will not proceed with a barrier that does not comply.

Our house crew will take care of patching, mixing, mic’ing etc. They will also assist with your load in,
