Victoria Wolodzko Vice President, Research and Community Health Program Operations As vice president, research and community health program operations for Susan G. Komen®, Victoria Wolodzko is responsible for Komen’s research, national community health and global grants, programs, and strategic partnerships, along with grant-making operations for the Affiliate Network. In this role, Wolodzko works closely with Komen’s mission advisors, including the Scientific Advisory Board, Komen Scholars, and Advocates in Science Steering Committee. Wolodzko joined Susan G. Komen® in 2010 to establish Komen’s research programs department. She recruited a team of scientists with expertise in breast cancer research from leading institutions and organizations around the country to assume direct oversight of the Komen research investment focused on urgently translating scientific discovery into patient benefit, now totaling more than $847 million. In 2013, she was appointed to the position of Managing Director, Grants and Program Administration and assumed oversight of Komen’s community health and global grants and program operations. Today, Wolodzko leads a team of 37 scientists, public health professionals, and administrators in developing and executing Komen's investment to fulfill our promise, working to end breast cancer in the U.S. and throughout the world through groundbreaking research, community health outreach, and programs in more than 30 countries. Wolodzko began her career in scientific grants and program management with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Joining the AACR as one of the original staff of the newly established Program Administration department, she became Director of Program Administration with responsibility for a variety of scientific, educational, and global programming during her 11-year tenure. While at AACR, Wolodzko instituted programming to support special constituencies within the research community, such as women in cancer research, early-career scientists, and the global scientific community through the AACR International Affairs Committee and her management of the World Alliance of Cancer Research Organizations, a position held concurrently with her position at AACR. Prior to AACR, Wolodzko was Director of Association Services for the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (now Pennsylvania Association for Justice), and a member of the legal support teams for a number of law firms in Philadelphia focused on patent law and civil litigation. A native of Philadelphia, Wolodzko is a graduate of Temple University’s School of Communications, and resides in Dallas, Texas. An avid runner, her goal is to complete a half marathon in all 50 states.
