Victoria Wolodzko
Vice President, Research and Community Health Program Operations
As vice president, research and community health program operations for
Susan G. Komen®, Victoria Wolodzko is responsible for Komen’s
research, national community health and global grants, programs, and
strategic partnerships, along with grant-making operations for the Affiliate
Network. In this role, Wolodzko works closely with Komen’s mission
advisors, including the Scientific Advisory Board, Komen Scholars, and
Advocates in Science Steering Committee.
Wolodzko joined Susan G. Komen® in 2010 to establish Komen’s
research programs department. She recruited a team of scientists with
expertise in breast cancer research from leading institutions and organizations around the
country to assume direct oversight of the Komen research investment focused on urgently
translating scientific discovery into patient benefit, now totaling more than $847 million.
In 2013, she was appointed to the position of Managing Director, Grants and Program
Administration and assumed oversight of Komen’s community health and global grants and
program operations. Today, Wolodzko leads a team of 37 scientists, public health professionals,
and administrators in developing and executing Komen's investment to fulfill our promise,
working to end breast cancer in the U.S. and throughout the world through groundbreaking
research, community health outreach, and programs in more than 30 countries.
Wolodzko began her career in scientific grants and program management with the American
Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Joining the AACR as one of the original staff of the
newly established Program Administration department, she became Director of Program
Administration with responsibility for a variety of scientific, educational, and global programming
during her 11-year tenure.
While at AACR, Wolodzko instituted programming to support special constituencies within the
research community, such as women in cancer research, early-career scientists, and the global
scientific community through the AACR International Affairs Committee and her management of
the World Alliance of Cancer Research Organizations, a position held concurrently with her
position at AACR.
Prior to AACR, Wolodzko was Director of Association Services for the Pennsylvania Trial
Lawyers Association (now Pennsylvania Association for Justice), and a member of the legal
support teams for a number of law firms in Philadelphia focused on patent law and civil litigation.
A native of Philadelphia, Wolodzko is a graduate of Temple University’s School of
Communications, and resides in Dallas, Texas. An avid runner, her goal is to complete a half
marathon in all 50 states.
