Creative Writing Residential

Course focus
Whether you are teaching A level Creative Writing or thinking
about running writing workshops after school, this two-and-a-half
day residential course at the University of East Anglia will inspire
and help you. Develop your own writing skills and learn how to
successfully teach creative writing to others. Explore poetry,
fiction and scriptwriting, and discover how to engage and
encourage young writers in the classroom too. The residential
includes a session run by AQA with updates about the A-level.
Overview
This event will be led by UEA creative writing tutors and AQA
representatives. It will:

Include workshops on poetry, prose and scriptwriting

Develop your skills as a writer

Help you to guide and facilitate young writers in the
classroom

Inspire you with a reading by Andrew Cowan, prizewinning novelist and Director of Creative Writing at UEA

Bring you up to date with the latest A Level Creative
Writing news

Give you the opportunity to make friends and form
networks
Suitable for:
This course will be of particular
interest to teachers of the new
AQA A-Level Creative Writing. It
is also suitable for all teachers
of Key Stage 3/4/5 English and
KS5 Creative Writing who are
looking to help support
ambitious writers and develop
their own skills.
Duration:
This event runs from 12th to 14th
August 2015. There are 17
places available and bookings
will be taken from 1st March
2015.
