PV systems are more prominent among renewable energy systems with the disadvantage of uncertainty in the output power production due to the unpredictable variations in the incident solar radiation intensity. This paper suggests a unique inverter topology known as Embedded Zsource inverter with which a maximum power output can be obtained from a PV array with lesser component ratings and reduced cost by employing an MPPT controller. The Embedded Zsource inverters produce the same gain as that of Z-source inverter but with a smoother and smaller current and voltage maintained across the DC source (i.e) PV array and within the impedance network to incorporate reduced harmonic distortions on the DC source and the latter features are also obtained .
