A viable design option
Armstrong has included in its product portfolio a range of
plank ceilings in mineral fibre, metal and soft fibre.
Armstrong Planks offer several benefits to the designer. Primarily, these include:

combined with aesthetics

Apart from Board and Tegular edges, Mineral and Soft fibre
planks are available in Semi-concealed option which provides
the designer a reduced grid visual...
...or just make a bold statement using Bandrasters as a transition between rows of concealed planks.

A viable design option
Techzone Panels:
Create an uncluttered and monolithic ceiling
using our large size soft fibre panels along with
soft fibre planks ( zones).
All services can be placed above the zone (over
the planks) and access to these services for
maintenance can be achieved by accessing
the areas above the large size planks, thereby
avaoiding damage.
Earn LEED Credits:
Eco-friendly materials are not a compromise on
quality or aesthetics.

Dune & Fine fissured
Armstrong plank systems, in
conjunction with Bandraster, allow
the designer to break away from the
mundane "tile" visual of the ceiling,
besides allowing the ceiling to integrate
with the building module and when
featuring the SL2 edge detail these
systems provide full accessibility whilst
minimising the visible grid.
The Dune plank range offers a variety
of sizes to suit the flexible requirements
of modern office buildings. Dune planks
also provide a solution for corridor
areas where the different lengths can
accomodate a variety of corridor
widths whilst retaining access and
providing high levels of light reflectance
and sound absorption.
Both Dune and the non-directional
Fine Fissured combine excellent sound
absorption and sound attenuation
performance.

Planks - SOFT FIBRE
Optra
Optra is a soft fibre ceiling solution for
high acoustic spaces with glass fibre
(Optra FG) and rockwool (Optra RW) as
core material.
The ideal product for modern office
environments, its excellent sound absorption properties (high NRC of 0.9
up to 1.0) helps in creating noise free
open plan offices, cafeterias, or any
other places where too much noise can
be disruptive. This improves comfort

and increases productivity by reducing
ambient noise.
Its fine textured white surface makes it
an ideal solution in terms of aesthetics.
To provide an excellent mechanical
strength, all products have a fibre glass
fleece at the back. All board and tile
edges are painted to avoid dispersion
of fibres, ensuring longer life. In addition, Optra ceilings are available in a
large variety of size, colour, pattern and
edge detail combinations.
Optra Planks with SL2 edge are especially suitable for corridor spaces, large
open office spaces and areas that require frequent access to plenum.

Layout and design options
Planks of size 1200 x 300mm are ideal for corridor spaces. Featured here is a combination of Mineral/Soft fibre planks running in two
directions to suit a 3 metre long corridor
Planks can be used effectively with 1200x1200 panels for effectively carrying services: while all services are carried above the plank
location, 1200x1200 Optra panels can be used to easily access and maintain these services
Bandrasters (ref: hatched area) complement planks as design element and also offers flexibility in designing office partition locations
