AVK flange gaskets with steel insert are suitable for flanges made of steel, stainless steel, glassfibre
reinforced plastic, PP, PVC, PE and for coated flanges. We offer two different basic designs, the straight KGS
design and the drop-shaped KGS-S design, which both are available in EPDM and NBR rubber.

Features:
• Vulcanised rubber gasket in EPDM shore 70 with lenticular shape and rounded edges
• Moulded drop-shape at the inside of the gasket protects against corrosion and pressurized volumes at the
sealing area, and offers optimal sealing properties in case of flange unevenness as well as at lowest tightening
torques. The shape also makes the gasket suitable for flanges made of thermoplastic material.
• Inside a vulcanised steel ring offering a good absorption of surface pressure
• Outer diameter self-centering to the inner diameter of the screw holes
• Suitable for applications requiring good ozone-, ageing- and weatering resistance
• The gaskets are resistant to water and dilutions of salts, diluted acids and alkalines, polar media
such as alcohol and ketone, washing agents, hydraulic media based on water-glycol and hydraulic media
based on phosporic esters. Resistance to mentioned media should be confirmed by AVK before installation.
The gaskets are not resistant against aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons or highly
oxidising acids.
