In order to increase fire safety in our buildings and reduce numbers of false alarms, we encourage our tenants to follow these instructions:
Please regard every fire alarm as a real alarm, and evacuate the building as soon as possible.
Always use the kitchen fan at full strenght while cooking. In some buildings there are valves that has to be opened. Close again after use.
Always clean the stove after cooking, to avoid drippings that causes smoke and fire alarm.
The filter of the fan or valve should be cleaned weekly, use fat resolving products.
Never leave the stove during cooking.
Be careful with candles.
Do not smoke indoors.
Never poor water on to hot oil, it will cause explosions.
Avoid mixing large numbers of wires.
Do not charge your mobile phone while sleeping, it can cause dangerous gasses.
Only Nemco approved appliencies are allowed.
Do not barbecue inside, or on wooden floors at verandas.
It is forbidden to cover fire alarms in the ceiling. This will cause risk for your fellow tenants in case of fire, the fee is NOK 1500,-
Fire alarms are not to be switched off by anyone else but our technical staff, Securitas or the fire department.
Never park your car or in other ways block fire exits of the building as this will prevent the fire department entrance reaching the area.
All hallways and fire exit routes should be kept free at any time.
Always keep doors to common rooms/areas closed, as these are often in the end of a hallway near escape routes.
If the fire alarm goes off act as follows:
1.
Check the fire scene.
2.
Attempt to put out the fire.
3.
Evacuate all people present.
4.
Close doors and windows when you leave the room.
5.
Meet and inform the fire departure when they arrive.

As a tenant at SiA you are obligated to familiarize yourself with the fire exits, emergency lights and fire extinguishers in your building. If you set off the alarm unnecessary, the fee is NOK 1500,-
