University of Pennsylvania James Joo-Jin Kim Program in Korean Studies Penn-Seoul National University Korean Studies Ph.D. Student Exchange Program Application For academic year 2016-17, Penn James Joo-Jin Kim Program in Korean Studies will select one (1) School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) doctoral student for participation in Penn-Seoul National University Korean studies Ph.D. student exchange. A nominee must be a doctoral student in a humanities or social science field who has completed coursework and is working on a dissertation focused on Korea. Hosted by SNU Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies <http://kyujanggak.snu.ac.kr/kiks/index.do> during the period of affiliation (September 1, 2016– August 31, 2017), the student will still pay Penn any tuition or fees that (s)he may owe. The exchange student will be chosen on the basis of the competitively established merit of the proposals in light of resources offered by the partner university.
